Hi Chirag,

I can confirm the method mentioned shorty9210 indeed works! I just changed the CSC to T-Mob and the updates have started flowing. Just use the samFw.com tool to change the CSC, you will get T-MOB logo once you have changed the CSC but the updates will come by. It didnt delete the data too. Couldnt be any happier!

Give it a shot!

Cheers,
Amit.
Bro did it format the data?
and you used 3.31 version of the tool? also is 5g working?

you are a life saver sir! Thanks so much! I changed the csc to T-Mob and the updates are flowing! A quick question though do we need to change back and forth to GFC everytime theres an update? For now mine is at T-MOB.
Of course, but with that Said I wish I caught you guys in time, at this time I would say probably don't want to update to the latest update I finally figured out how to flash my U to U1 and I've been messing around I went back to xar csc and then flashed xar firmware and did the change csc and noticed a lot more compatible csc which I'm starting to believe that doesn't matter but one of the csc is WWD an turns out its a B model csc, I think I just found are backdoor into a unlocked bootloader without a paid service, more testing todo flashing B firmware has failed two tests gonna see if I could possibly make some combination firmwares, just have to figure out how to get the device not to switch the main service back to ATT soon as I put my sim back in, and to end this for the time being I recommend a reset on all csc changes and firmware flashs you tend not to get the whole effect, screenshot is after the sim was put back in I'll redo want I started and make sure I save my screenshot, as well another one with what my service, security, etc. I downgrade from VL9 to VKB when I was flashing the XAR firmware to just be safe, I'll make a more detailed post when I figure out more, FREEDOM IS COMING FOR SM-F936U and SM-F936U1 I'm sure of it!!!!
Any other questions feel free to reach out, until then!!!

That sounds interesting! Please let me know how it goes. For now, I have updated to Android 13 with Jan'23 security patch and reverted back to GCF CSC from T-MOB CSC. Everything seems to be functioning fine for now.

I honestly got the phone for quite cheap albeit without warranty, so don't really mind this workaround of switching to some other CSC every time there's a security update which probably would be once a month.

Cheers!
Amit.

So, I also have this ATT version of FOLD 4 which was gifted and my wife is using it in India.
So as I understand i just have to change the CSC to T-MOB using the tool and the updates will start flowing? Can I use the INS CSC, would that work? Or I should stick to country specific CSC?

I have come across a youtube video and the guy seems to offer to do it for USD 30 one time charge. He would do it via remote access to my pc so assuming he would do it the same way as mentioned here or am I missing something?
Thanks

I wouldnt recommend getting it done from outside. Its a fairly easy process once you start using the tool, right now your csc would be GCF change it to T-MOb using the tool , let the updates come in till the jan'23 security patch post the Android 13 update, then revert back to GCF csc.

You might just have to check on what all is needed to make the phone get recognized once you plug in to the tool. USB debbugin needs to be on for one, please check on the others.

I would say just start going through the different csc that's how I got mine to show the new up date then I just went back to gfc

I would say just start changing csc until it comes up that's how I got mine to show then January update and then I went back to GFC
This was wonderful! You rock man! Thanks so much. Worked like a charm for me.

This was very helpful and I could fix mine. Thanks so much for the post and support. I changed my CSC to TMK and it worked! The updates are now smoothly rolling in. Will use it for the next couple of days and then post again. SamFw.com tool doesnt give a choice of CSC when used, but it does ask you to type and enter the CSC code. I did that and it worked instantly.

One query if you can help...I changed CSC to TMK (from GCF). What if I don't change it back to GCF? Also, is it possible or wiser to try another CSC like INS to activate call recorder and Samsung Pay. Thanks

I had the same question too that what if I were to keep it with tmob only, i reverted back to gcf cause I saw bunch of tmob bloatware when i switched the csc ,but keeping with tmob csc should be fine as long as you dont mind the boot up logo and some bloatware.

tmk is not t-mobile tmk is metroPCS tmb is t-mob and updates flow in smooth
Thanks man. Just for your info and for helping other memebers I would like to add that MetroPCS also runs under TMobile. Though using TMB as CSC will show you just TMB logo when you start phone, using TMK will show both Metro and TMobile logos and bloatware. Updates worked as smooth in it.

Thanks for sharing your exprience. Using SamFw.com tool I switched back to GCF, but realised that Samsung Members doesnt work with it. It shows error. I switched the CSC to XAA and everything worked just fine. It took not more than a minute! Amazing. BTW, SamFw website says my original CSC was CHA. Interesting!
Only thing I did not try was using INU as CSC. Didn't dare to try. But if it succeeds, I guess I should be able to access Samsung's built in call recorder and Samsung Pay. Has anyone tried it yet?

You guys are amazing. Just changed CSC to TMB. Updated the phone to latest update (not UI 5.1), changed CSC back to GCF.
No data loss, everything seems to be fine. Only thing that while updating all updates had to be done one by one as in android 13 update with November security patch, then December security patch and finally January security patch. I was thinking it will come under a single update like what we have for iphones but was not the case.

    Is UI 5.1 released for sm-936U /DS?
Yes, One Ui 5.1 has been released for the USA model SM-F936U, which is a single SIM device. See...

There is no way I could find online to get the updates. Nothing works. The only way is to have US sim and be connected to AT&T network in US to get the update which is impossible. So I guess we are stuck with the old os version.

Not gonna happen without root, even then might be difficult.
The Indian model is a F936B model. Trying to flash the firmware on it is like trying to flash IOS on an android.
Did see a way to change CSC in the forum however I believe you needed to have the compatible variant as it needed the OXM ROM flashed 1st.

I got it carrier unlocked. Everything works fine in India with major carriers, even getting 5G to work here. Attaching screenshots of DevCheck

Seems genuine. Your mention of a May update threw me.

It is running the F936USQU1AVGA firmware which it was launched with and therefore, has never received an update.

However, it is still a bootloader locked model, even though you have it carrier unlocked. The only way to update it is to insert an AT&T SIM card and connect to their network in the US. Other than that, you will need to do a search to see if there are any custom ROM's that utilises the locked AT&T bootloader. Alternatively, just carry on using it as it is

So I am using AT&T version Zfold 4 model SM-F936U/DS in India and my software version is as follows:

    Build number
    SP2A.220305.013.F936USQU1AVGA

    Service provider software version
    SAOMC_SM-F936U_OYN_GCF_12_0003
    GCF/GCF.GCF/XAA

Its stuck on android 12 May update.

I want to flash Indian firmware to make it Indian version of Z fold 4 for faster updates and enabling the call recorder.

What do I need to do? Any help will be appreciated. If this is answered anywhere please provide links to that thread and I will delete this one.

I am totally confused about CSC, firmware version, carrier version etc.
