Need to Sim unlock device, At&t

I purchased the phone 2nd hand off someone, was able to set up my metro account on it, but because the previous owner didn't pay it off in full, at&t won't give me the unlock code. Is there any way around this? I can't really afford to be out the amount I spent on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all and have a good one

Same for me when for unlock sim!!!! I am with bell.sprint second hand phone , and sprint dont want to give me unlock code bevaise i dont have all information about last owner

Good day guys, just to let you know that in Movical they were able to unlock the G8X from At&t, mine has financed status but with clean IMEI and when I tried on EBAY and other unlocking sites they told me that the code was not found in their database but at last in Movical they were able to do it, they use the remote method to unlock it
