I've updated the main post with the Beta 5 links and changes, it's also been sent in for certification, should be 3-5 days if it goes through.

Some pretty big performance improvements for 1st and 2nd gen, bug fixes when adding from the web as well as other minor fixes. If you're using a HTC Radar or the IS12T u may have to add some more frame skipping because of the slower CPU. Otherwise it should detect the device settings automatically.

Links for the lazy:

Wow! Great improvements over beta 4! I have a Titan and everything runs super smooth with full sound on both game demos! I'll have to dig up my other roms and try them out! Great work!

One bit of feedback ... the save and load options per rom (awesome feature by the way) do not give any user feedback or a confirmation to save / load. Some sort of yes or no dialog box may be a good way to ensure the user wants to save / load.

Thanks. Been playing some Kirby's Adventure, forgot how awesome the sound track really was. Most games I've tried runs pretty well on 2nd gen. (and first gen without sound)

Just consider all of the GUI + controls a temporary solution for now. It's on my list to completely redo those things for the 1.0 release, but things take time to properly implement.

Could you also add a virtual joystick as an option instead of the 4 button dpad? I find it hard to hit the right direction sometimes so a joystick mode would help alot. Thanks.

I just downloaded the update from the marketplace... there's a pretty major problem with this version.

Attempting to add any ROM from a URL now results in the following error message as soon as the app reaches the "extraction" step:
An error occurred while accessing isolatedStorage.
Edit: Just attempted a complete uninstall, reboot, reinstall of the app. Still doesn't work, and now all my old ROMs are gone too...

Hmm heard another say that as well, thought I had tested everything. Doing a re-install of the app should clear out the isolated storage and then it should work.

See above, I just tried that, and it's still broken
Tried it myself, getting the same error with rar and zip. I could swear the last thing I did was testing a clean install multiple times. It's probably due to a folder not getting created in the isolated storage -.-. Checking through the code now.

edit: ?! it works on the dev version, but not the marketplace one? Gotta download the marketplace xap to check this out. Might have uploaded the wrong version..

edit2: apparently I did. Uploading the fixed version asap. Also can't believe it passed marketplace certification with that serious bug in it..

If it's the beta 5, then it's version-ed as 0.5 etc.

All XDA versions = good

Doing a clean install from the marketplace 0.5 = bad

Doing a upgrade from 0.4 to 0.5 = fine. (as long as you've started the 0.4 once)

I'll clean up the versioning shenanigans in the next major update. I'll make the jump to 1.0 (no more beta).

yup, just did a clean install of b0.5, "an error has ocurred while accesing IsolocatedStronage" when trying to load zip from website. hope the new version will be there soon and approved soon :) however thanks for this great emulator.

maybe suggestion for future update to have some different sized soft controls. right now my left thumb is always in the `playing part´ of the screen making it difiicult to do a forward jump. maybe that is just my handicap being used to only nintendo hardware controllers :)
