Yea got it downloaded and loaded in some games. Plays really well so far. I've tried sonic 1 & 2, space harrier and phantasy star.
Yeah works great here as well, had some noticeable lag when turning frameskip off, but runs well on 1 (30fps?) frameskip. SkyDrive integration is really nice, although I do miss zip/rar support and it doesn't correctly resume when task switching in game. But overall a great first version.

Is Skydrive support in for 1.0 ? I'll have to admit, that would be nice to update a single rom...

I tried Sonic Jewels on my Trophy, it ran perfectly fine but, with out sound, I wont buy it... Oh, it brings back memories, Phantasy Star just epic, I can even remember the sounds, too bad I can't hear them...

getting lag with sound only on Quattro games on nokia lumia 800 and htc mozart using beta 0.6, great work keep it up
Quattro adventure?, it shouldn't lag on your Lumia 800 /w sound. Unless the game has slowdown like Mega Man 3. I'll check it out tho.

yeah I'm missing the sounds when playing Alex Kidd & Wonderboy as well.

As for SkyDrive in 1.0:

I've already implemented it and it has the same zip/rar and single file support.

SkyDrive implementation is going to be so helpful, now that MegaUpload has been taken down and other sites have restricted access.

Yeah I was thinking about it, I don't think I'll have the time to do full automatic syncing, but I'll most likely add a manual backup and restore to SkyDrive.
Awsome... Just an option and for vNES to look for a save game there or at least give an option to sync saves back down (incase of a reinstall). I'd hate to have to reinstall it(or nuke my phone for a custom rom) and not get my saves :(

Yep, also makes it easier to migrate to a new phone. One note though, I have to break the real time save states in order to fix it properly.

Small bug report for the current version.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open vNESLight.
2. Pin a game to the start screen (one of the included demo games will work).
3. Unpin the game from your start screen.
4. Re-open vNESLight.
5. Try to pin the same game you just un-pinned.
6. vNESLight says it's already pinned!

Thanks for the heads up, I've mostly scrapped all of the old GUI stuff so things like this should be more robust in the 1.0 version.

Another note, the last update was held back for policy reasons, it's sad that they wouldn't even tell me that though until now :s.

vNESLight was reviewed extensively and was approved. It is currently live in the Marketplace.

At least we have an answer now and that the reviewing helped ease the way for Sonic's Jewels and other emulators. Just wish they could have been faster..

Might be off topic, but still relevant. Sonic's Jewels has been unpublished from the marketplace because of a request from Sega. Spoke with the author Samuel Blanchard and he's not exactly sure why it was removed, could be the emulator itself or something like the usage of the Sonic IP. We'll see -.-.

But anyways I'll go with Leapo's new tile (simplified version) to avoid IP issues, it looks good too =), I'm guessing a controller is less severe than Mario. Could u get me a 200x200 version as well?

I don't want to set a date, but it's very likely that beta testing for 1.0 will begin next week. Just have a few more things to fix before that.

Yup, I'll whip up a 200x200 version when I get home tonight :D

Sorry to hear the bad news about Sonic's Jewels. SEGA has always been very supportive of the emulation community (hiring emulator writers to help port their games to the PC, even), so I imagine their complaints are with the name and the use of Sonic's image in the app.

Made up a few different 200x200 versions (messing with the background / text placement).

....

....

Could also go text-less... or heck, I could make an icon of the actual NES console for the 200x200 version (similar to the NES in some of the splash screen versions).

Hmm they look nice, but maybe it would be best to go without anything Nintendo trademarked to be safe IP wise. Perhaps a simple vNESLight metrofied logo would be the best. Thanks again for the suggestions though.

K, I'll play around with it some more and see what I come up with.

It's nice that they allow the marketplace tile to be a different image from the actual application tile on the device... just gotta come up with a good way to fill it :D
