I'm not sure if I want to place it in under the games section, it's very much a program and not a game, even though it's main purpose is to play games. But thats just a matter of preferences, people can just change the genre string in the WMAppManifest.
Yea, it is a program but, what do you do with the program ? What else can you do with the program ? Right, play games and only play games. :)

I guess that's my thought on it.... The Windows Phone 7 app menu is messy as it is, every app just get dumps in there and put in A, B, C order. At least my thought was to keep games with games. It would be eaiser to find when your in the mood to play a game.

Of course, it's your app, I just want to help to make it better and it's a quick change if someone wants it the other way :)

I've attached a logo that I whipped fairly quick. The font is the Super Mario Bros font with an 8bit NES controller logo. The font colors are from the Mario sprite.

EDIT: Also, everything is formatted to change the background color. So you could make the tile match the theme color.
Cool, I'll see if I can make use of it.

That's true, I usually just pin the app/game I use the most so it doesn't really matter that much to me either way.

It will probably go up on codeplex as open source eventually, but for now I'll just try to listen to suggestions/feedback.

Here's my quick logo/icon. I wanted to go with a few Mario, Zelda etc but, this was quick and easy and has a Xbox live theme to it.

A little more modern looking is what I was going for.

This is the 173 X 173, resize it for a logo/icon

EDIT: I redid the logo, Better NES logo and the controller looks a lot better

If you wanted to put it in games, and fit in, this would be a nice one to do it with...As it does look like every other "xbox live" game

Edit: I thought this image would look pretty cool as a Splash screen (that screen that is on for 2-3 seconds while it loads.) It's a NES controller pulled apart....Thought it was pretty wild so I gave it a black background and resized it...

Aight had some time to test out the artwork, gotta say loving the splash screen, looks great. Can't decide on which tile to use, they both look good, but they kinda look too detailed for the small tile (62x62). Thanks again.

Nudua,

I guess it all depends on how you want the look. I went for a more modern look as ryotgz went for a classic 8-bit look. Remember, I'll make sure mine is in with games, so the xbox live modern look that I did would fit in perfectly

Thanks for the thought on the splash screen, I thought it would add pretty modern feel to a 8-bit system.

Made two new ones with the XBL flavor. One has no background to allow for theme colors and the other has a slightly transparent BG.
I edited your blue background a little, gave it a clear Xbox live look (all of the XBOX live games have a white background on the top).

No issues, just a update that I think is the best of both worlds...

Just another option

y I havn't tried it in the Xbox hub yet. On another note, making progress on the emulator that will hopefully speed it up in the end.

I might be able to rework them a bit to look better at 62x62 if needed.

I like it a lot. Didn't even cross my mind.

That's great to hear.

Ok I used DavidinCTs idea and made the top transparent and used a gradient for the separator. I also shrunk the tile to 62x62, changed the text and some minor modifications.

EDIT: Added the bigger one with the same font as 62x62
kk saved them, I'll try em out.

Mango 7720.68 RTM is out if you have not seen...

Hows progress coming on Beta 2...Can't wait for a fixed controler, it's getting almost unplayable on some games :(
I've seen, but it's very close to the last beta so I'll probably not update untill u can do it officially.

It's progressing, but there's a lot of tedious work, weeding out bugs and small things that may have a performance penalty. I've added additional hitboxes for moving diagonally, so that should ease movement on games like Zelda/Guardian Legend etc.

My thoughts exactly. Oh BTW, Zelda 2 doesn't display correctly when walking on the world map.
Gonna check out the mapper.
