Now that 4.2.1 is done. Hope we'll get Key Lime Pie which is something probably much more exciting.

Now that this is done? I have the tf101, tf300t and had the tf201 (worst product ever at top dollar) and I must say this is the worst rollout ASUS has ever had.
We may get it by the time they roll out 3 more devices. I am now convinced that the only reason they roll out product is to trial OTA's, publicity for all the conventions in the world
and are producing product for Google. So, they get a lead from them to trial. If you push it out OTA then post it on the Web Site.

What I think is that "lets see what happens and have the community fix the bugs" or "see the bugs", repair, then we will post it. Product was not ready for prime time in my opinion.
So, lets just sit and wait since the media now thinks ASUS is wonderful and no one has JB 4.2.1 or the few by some act of the "Android Gods", got it to work.

"Key Lime Pie" first they need to get their house in order on Jelly Bean. I am now convinced now that updates are only addendums to fix errors in the original software thus it will always be a domino effect. In this case a "butterfly effect". Taiwan flaps its wings and tablets crash all over the world. Get off your ass and provide support!

Sorry had to say it, this company needs to hear it.

Update 4.2.1

norm were not the company
I know your not the company and it was not intended for this forum. But:
ASUS reads this, I know because of the tf201 nightmare.
They have someone assigned to follow up. They read a post I had with issues and gave me a 100%
reimbursement for everything bought for a tf201 related to the metal back, GPS and Wifi issues. Tablet, Dock, Case, MicroSD, extra charger etc.
They are a good company but play bad politics. I believe they will make it right they just need to post the software it and make it right.

If you do not tell them, then they do not know, I have also E-mailed them. I've spent several thousand with this company and expect service.
Yes, I even have multiple devices of the same for: kids, wife etc. I am an Android-aholic and dam proud!

What... what an entitled little whiner you are... Be glad we're even getting official updates at all. When you bought your tablet, Asus didn't guarantee you will get ANYTHING but what's on the tablet at the time of purchase.

Is there an easy way to close apps with the dock attached? It feels a bit inconvenient having to move the cursor to the bottom right of the screen to open the recent apps and then back to the far right hand side to actually select or close an app

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Easy way is to use your finger on the touch screen ;)

So far there have been alot of issues trying to root after the 4.2.1 ota which I'm on now. Was thinking of rooting as I've done all my other devices in the passed and just recently got this one but as of now there's an issues with the new bootloader encrypting the file system so recoveries can't mount the system. I was about to root before read that and unlocked my bootloader but i guess my question is is there any way to reflash the stock bootloader to lock it again as i also read that you can lose future otas after unlocking it. Any help appreciated thanks.

The answer is still no. Besides, ASUS has a record of your serial # being unlocked.

Yea I've read that some where wasn't worried about warranty just future ota update. I figured there would be at moment because the update hasn't even been release on the asus support website. Thanks

Like I said here a few pages back, I suggest folks just sit tight and wait for one of the more enterprising devs to pick apart the 4.2.1 OTA and embed it into a custom ROM. If you're already unlocked with custom recovery and rooted, the features clearly aren't worth the aggravation, and it's just to darn easy to brick the tab. So that's not going to happen until Asus posts it on their sight, which is a week or so away, if they're true to pattern.

And try to recognize that lots of folks have tabs that don't have JB on them at all yet and never will; and we've got a pretty decent device. Finally, less than 5% of users root, so the marketplace just isn't going to redefine itself for us. Try owning an HTC device, or anything on the Verizon network. Asus is downright friendly by comparison.

Luckly I'm on the 4.2.1?update right now but just unlocked no issues i like the new update but was just lloking to fix the unlocked bootloader. I realized after doing some reading that trying to root at the moment isn't a good idea because of the issues with the update. Thanks for the advicce noticed it to after reading some stuff my self there are alot of other people in worse possition now because tried so figured out should just sit for a while till some things are figured out. No biggie either way the device is good as is so doesnt matter to me. Thanks
