Screen freezes frequently on high quality/framerate on a Nexus 7 2013

Is anyone else having an issue with high quality high frame rate mode for certain devices?

I recently bought an ASUS RT-AC68U router for my place and decided to give remote play a go. PS4 is connected to router via ethernet, and I have a OnePlus One and Nexus 7 2013 connected via the 5ghz band (though the Nexus 7 doesn't have 802.11ac mode so stuck on 150mbps).

My OnePlus One works perfectly - no stutter in the video and frame rate is silky smooth. The Nexus 7 on the other hand, can only load up on the dashboard and it's super smooth as long as I don't do anything. The moment I start flicking through the tiles, it works for a few seconds, then the image freezes until I stop moving and wait for a few seconds. Any time I load up a game with full screen animation, the screen freezes completely but sound is working perfectly. Interestingly, looking at my traffic monitor on my router, my Nexus 7 is constantly pulling down 650-800kb/s of data the whole time the image is frozen. My OnePlus one also pulls the same amount of data while playing the same game and video working perfectly.

I have tried the app (1.0 and 1.0.1) on both stock 4.4 KitKat and 5.0.2 Lollipop roms (fresh flashes with no other apps installed) but same issue on both. The Nexus 7 plays perfectly on all other variations of the quality/framerate modes except for both on high, which is what I really want. Anyone have any ideas?

A500, 4.0.3, Unfortunately Remote Play Has Stopped.

I'm using an acer iconia a500 tablet, running android 4.0.3; not rooted. When I install the app it begins to start and it stays on the loading screen for about 20s (see attached image) before closing, after which the "Unfortunately, Remote Play has stopped" message appears. I have tried doing a factory reset but that did not help. Any help is appreciated!

Hey everyone. I came across this thread about a month ago and after finding out that I could remote play on my smartphone I knew I was finally ready to upgrade to a PS4. I bought one over the weekend and I've already set up everything and I'm able to access my PS4 right now at work.

What I need help with is pairing the DS4. Is there any other option outside of rooting my device? I'm pretty comfortable with modern tech but I'm no wiz with this stuff and I've only made it this far because of the help of the internet. I don't really want to root right now if I don't have to, so any feedback or insight or even just a helpful link would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My fire TV does the same thing.

I can have the frame rate high but graphics normal. It's connected via power line ethernet

I uploaded the file again, it should now be fixed.

You could try using the Sixaxis Controller app.

Controller mapping is all over the place, but in version 0.7.4, the controller mapping was correct via OTG cable. I have an unrooted Note 4 (impossible to root as of right now), so I am unable to use the Sixaxis controller app. Is there any other way around this via an update to the app with correct mapping?

Thanks!

Go to settings /connections /more networks / mobile networks/ access point names and create another apn almost the same as your default except for the field that says apn protocol change to ipv4. Lmk if it works

depends what phone u got,my nexus 5 on works with a dual shock 3 through an otg cable
dual shock 4 wont connect through blutooth (thats a nexus 5 problem though)and through otg cable shoulder buttons dont work so try otg cable if you phone supports it and dual shock 3 if u have one for now.
im sure dual shock 4 will be sorted 100% at some point

This is an option I was considering. I'm fine with using an OTG cable so long as the controller is mapped correctly. Just curious, what cable are you using? I'm shopping around online looking for one to order.

Well I don't have a Dual Shock 3...

My phone is an HTC One M8. Like I said in my earlier post, the app works great and I'm able to hook up to my PS4 at home and even when I'm away at work. I also got the DS4 to sync via bluetooth to my phone but the button mapping was off. I'm planning on picking up an OTG cable if that's a more reliable way to use the DS4. Ultimately it doesn't matter to me how I get it to work, I would just like to get the DS4 to work with my phone so I can play my PS4 away from home, and I really don't want to have to root my device.

Any other thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

out with the old in with the new

Hi all,
A long while ago I rooted my note 10.1 2014 and installed manually the apk and all the jar and Dex files where I was instructed to install them from this forum, it was working and everything was fine just had the issue with the controller so I left it alone. Months later I check this forum and it has an apk that doesn't need root and 2 work a rounds for the controller. unbeknownst to you my excitement level is through the roof. So I go about removing the old apk ,Dex files , XML files and jar files from my machine (just reversed engineered the install process because When I tried to install the apk without removing the old version it said it couldn't over write a system file.) After I removed everything I rebooted my machine and tried to install the apk this time it looks like its was going to go through but in the end it says not installed. What am I doing wrong? I have 4.4.2 on my tablet and its rooted. Can anyone help.

I believe I have managed to remove all of the security checks now but I'd like a few people to test before doing a proper release. Unless you know what you're doing please don't use this, I don't want any useless 'unable to install' responses. There is a small caveat to this release in that google maps needs to be installed, I won't explain here in full but essentially this is due to a temp hack to remove original dependencies so don't bother trying on a TV that doesn't have maps as it won't work.

    In summary:
    Requirements
    - Android 4.4+
    - Google maps

    Features
    - Removed root check and xperia dependencies
