I went ahead bit the bullet and placed an order for a battery today. I have a launch day Nexus 5 and plan on keeping it until it's broken as it does everything I need a phone to do. 18 months in with the phone I feel as though a new battery would put some new juice into it. If not $16 bucks is no big deal.

So, after some days waiting the new battery from Amazon, today I received and I put it in my mobile phone.

CONCLUSION: New life to my phone and the continuous restarts have dissapeared.

So, fantastic!!!!

New battery arrived and is now fitted, the date on it was in December 2014 so it is over a year younger than the original battery so even if i don't get any extra battery life i have at least extend the life of my Nexus 5.

If i got 3 hours SOT with the old battery i was doing very well so ill keep my eye on this new one.

I've ordered the following battery from Amazon seller Shine-Ebuy. Delivery is estimated around June 11, so it looks like it ships from China. I'll provide and update once I get it and have it installed.

It would be very helpful if anyone who buys from Amazon to mention the third party seller name.
I installed mine from this seller Tuesday. The product was delivered in 10 days from purchasing. Change out was easy enough. Production date was January 2015. Battery was exactly the same as the one I changed it with with the exception that on the back of the battery the original said Sony and the replacement said Samsung. Both are OEM's so I'm not sure that matters. Anyway since changing it I'm finally not needing to charge before bedtime for the first time since forever. At least 6 months or longer.:good:

Admittedly I've not had much screen time out of this charge cycle but the phone has been on for 26 hours with 1 hour 34 minutes of SOT and I've got 61% left ?

Well my phone decides to shut down at around 30-50% and i cant turn it back on unless its plugged into a charger, and when it does turn on its at around 4%. Weird. I bought another battery from ebay and it'll be coming soon.

Anyone has LTE issues after installing a new battery? Around the same time I changed my battery I stopped getting LTE in some places I used to. Either AT&T changed something in my area (Tucson) or is my phone. I tried removing and reinstalling the back of the phone with no difference. The back of the phone is tight and flashed to the phone. Any ideas?

I used to have between 4 and 5 hours SOT when I got this device, now it's more 2.5 to 3 hours.
I'm debating whether I should get a new battery or just wait 6 more months for the N5 2nd generation,

A few quid on a new battery is going to make your wait much more pleasurable :)
