Awesome work with the animation, it works in the themes app but gives only a boot logo while booting. Is that coz the bootanimation zip has jpgs instead of pngs?

Jpg is used just to make a smaller sized file. That won't affect the animation.
Make sure u set r-w-rr permissions to the bootanimation zip.

Press thanks if I helped you☺

Not working for my Moto G 2014.
I am using CM13. I downloaded the zip and copied to /System/Media and changed the permissions. CM Themes plays the animation, but after reboot the phone is stuck on boot logo and Android won't start.
Any solution for this?

Please read the OP carefully. The zip file for moto g 2014 is for stock rom not CM and you don't have to put it in media folder, its already a flashable zip.
If u still wanna use the animation, download the second file ( NOT flashable) which is moto g 2013, it should work on your device too.

Hit thanks if I helped you☺

I know the 3rd link is flashable animation for stock ROM, and hence I downloaded from 2nd link (FOR MOTO G (custom ROMs)) and placed it in media folder, but it did not work.

Well then that's because of the different resolution of both the devices. You can the edit the desc.txt file in the zip to make it work for ur device. Just change the first two numbers to your screen res I.e 720 1080.
It may work then.

Moto G 2014 screen resolution is 720 x 1280, which is already there in the desc.txt.
What is the number after the resolution? Below is the desc.txt:

720 1280 35
p 1 0 part0
p 1 2 part1

What is the number after the resolution? Below is the desc.txt:
35 is the frame rate at which the animation will play.
Below that are just pointers and number of times each part will play ( not device specific)
If u would like, I can port the animation for moto g 2014 too.

Hit thanks if I helped you☺

That would be cool. Also let me know the procedure for the porting, I want to add some knowledge to my brain ;)
Also if you are going to port, I will help you in testing :)

It's been tested by a lot of users. So, most probably u didn't followed the instructions properly.

I can reconfirm having followed your instructions again its the same thing I can see that is the boot logo and its directly logging on. I have followed your instructions and can give you a screenshot if you want.
