I can't clear data when I can't even install the app. I have the maxx so I guess we don't have this app in stock OS. Any other options or suggestions.

It didn't work for my wife either. Go to settings > apps > Motorola boot services and then click on "Clear Data", it'll then warn you about resetting the app; just click " OK" and then reboot the phone and it should work then.

Would you be willing to go to system/media and copy and post the bootanimation.zip? I also tried to compile from the extracted apk previously posted; no luck. Would be worth a try after its been installed on a phone. Thanks!

Thanks. That's the original boot ani though. Hmm. Is the April fools one running on the phone you got that from?

Yeah, I didn't bother opening it up to see what files were edited. I'll look to see if there is another .zip file. Sorry about that.

*Edit*

I just reboot my phone to be sure and it's definitely the April Fool's boot animation. I also looked for the new one and I don't see where it would be.

I'll keep looking for where it stuck the new animations for you.
I know the files are 01_intro.mp4 and 02_loop.mp4. I found those when I extracted apk posted previous. I've tried everything I can think of to recompile into a .zip but nothing works.....leave it to moto to lock down a bootanimation. JK. I'm sure it boils down to me not being smart enough! I'm just a freak about boot animations lol. Maybe I could try boot animation factory http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678540

Just don't have PC now.

Thanks for your consideration

The key is to zip up the files (01_intro.mp4,02_loop.mp4,videodesc.txt) with no compression. With 7zip this compression level is called "store".

So I appreciate the boot animation but didn't like the boot logo being black an white. So I took the logo with the white back ground and used it. But that didn't look quite right so I inverted it which made the moto sign red wasn't having that so changed it back to blue with black back ground hope you like it. Here are pics of before and after and the flashable logo.bin HERE------> https://www.dropbox.com/s/9s0o2r65e667oeq/logo.bin enjoy!

The "seasonal" boot animations that Motorola pushes down via the Motorola Boot Service app are located in....
