no sounds

Hi! So I looked into it, and what you have to do to have a boot sound is this:

[Make sure your file is a .mp3 between 10-15 secs long (don't know if it can be longer)

1. Using your file manager browse to system > sounds > poweron
2. Rename the file PowerOn.mp3 to PowerOn.bak
*If you just want to disable the power on sound you can stop here.
3. Browse to the location of the mp3 you want as your new boot sound.
4. Rename it to PowerOn.mp3
5. Copy it to system > sounds > poweron
6. Reboot and enjoy

* Linux is case sensitive so the boot animation must be bootanimation.zip all lowercase and the power on sound must be PowerOn.mp3 with uppercase P and O
(This is from androidforums.com)

I might want to add that this might not work on every device. I haven't tested it myself :) But this should work. Otherwhise your device isn't compatible. (I could be wrong tho)
Hi, thanks for everything. Unfortunately I have a problem, I don't have "sounds:(" folder in system folder. I'm using root Browser, maybe I should use other file manager. What do you think about it?

Is it possible to put music in your bootanimation.zip like it is in the original sony bootanimation.zip?

Ps. If something is unclear, I send you link to screenshots in Private Message

Hi, i saw your PM :)

The reason why it's not working might be these reasons:

1. Indeed, for Sony Smartphones you have to put in in the zip file. You have to make sure your bootanim.mp3 is UNCOMPRESSED
Open up bootanimation.zip with winrar, put it in there, then Rezip it too bootanimation.zip (make sure in winrar Compression method is set to stored.

If this doesn't work please let me know :)
2. Firmware doesn't support it.

Hi,
I have some problems with understanding of your text.
At first in point 1. you are talking about your bootanimation.zip or original sony bootanimation.zip?
secondly in this sentence "with winrar, put it in there" "it" means bootanim.mp3. am I right?
The last thing I'm not sure is what means "it" in "2. Firmware doesn't support it"?

Sorry for my poor understanding, I hope you find time to answer me :)

Sorry bro! Yes let me rephrase that haha:

So you open my bootanimation.zip and place your bootanim.mp3 there in the folder. Then you compress the folder again with winrar and for compression method you select "store" :)

With point 2, it can be that the firmware of your phone doesn't support android boot sounds.

Again, I don't know if this will work. So it would be awesome if you would test it :)

Hooray Hooray! :D Alright awesome! I don't know if it can be longer but feel free to test it :D If 13 seconds work then I don't see why more seconds would be a problem :D
No problem at all! Enjoy it :D

EDIT: OP has been updated so other users can use this feature! Enjoy everyone! And thanks @obi987 for testing! :)

I didn't unzip your bootanimation.zip.
1. I only open your bootanimation.zip with winrar.
2. than put there my bootanim.mp3
3. when I did it automatically pop up "Archive name and parameters" window
4. In this window I change compression method and click ok
5. than winrar automatically create bootanimation.zip with my music.

I think unzip method is also good but is little bit more complicated and I didn't tested it.

Do you know the method of increase the volume of the sound during reboot?

Yes, this is also possible :D But I'd rather explain it step by step so people don't get confused :) But your method works as well!

For increasing volume i don't know anything but increasing the main volume of your .mp3 in an audio program :)
