Earlier this month AT&T pushed out a rather buggy new software (H82011K) to some unfortunate souls in the United States.
Unfortunately post-update it appears that they have patched 3 of the 4 QuadRooter exploits.

As it's been said many times before: this WILL NOT HELP GET ROOT. Do not waste time worrying about an update that was pushed out, it won't do anything anyways
With the stuff that has been talked about in the other thread, can I update to this software and not worry about destroying my root capabilities? Just curious.

Here's what I would say: Just to be safe, if you have the option to update I wouldn't, but if you are automatically updated don't worry about it, as you will probably be okay
Good to know, I haven't updated yet but sometimes it asks me if I want to update. Hopefully it doesn't do it automatically.

Like the previous user said, if you can, avoid taking any updates unless you feel lucky.
Be prepared to factory reset your phone if it does update, as your current setup could be incompatible with it. This happened to me after the second OTA I received. Not very cool...

It just updated itself without my permission......
This is a load of crap, can't turn off data without a stupid annoying notification telling me to turn it back on

I'm sorry to hear that. The only way to reverse the ill effects of an update without root would be to find an original TOT file appropriate to your device model# and flash it with LG Flash tool in download mode, which would bring your phone back to a factory software condition.

I think I'll keep it for now, if I need to revert to it to get root I will do it.

European H850 with V10D and Securitylevel 2016-06-01 here, 4/4 vulnerables. I used the checker from trustlook because the checker from check point labs only checks 2 vulnerables.

I dont want to down hopes just inform just like previous posts said unless bootloard gets unlocked ure out. Su is a systemless root and hence root dosnt lie in the system. If the bl is n e thing like g4 its encrypted with a 256 bit key which is basickly unhackable.
Like another poster said if ever is possible its gonna be in something like bump or loki ofcoarse both have been patched. Unless they change unlocked models with a android n update. Which has been know to hppen a updte isnt just a system but bootloaders too at discretion can be locked or unlocked with any updte. Days of rooting these device are at a major change.
