New firmware (10.1.1.A.1.307) certified for the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL!

There is nothing interesting in 4.2.2 that would make the update 'just for the OS' worth it. Sony is however preparing a lot of fun stuff that will probably be released together with the 4.2.2 update. Since they are in no hurry to release 4.2.2 (which is ready and stable), they're waiting for the other new projects to be finished.

This includes, for example, the integration of Music Unlimited in the Walkman app. And some other fun stuff. Probably also the launcher with transparent notification bar/softkeys.

Nobody knows if it worths the update, no changelog available for 307 ....

I completely agree with that. Coming from a nexus 4 with 4.2.2 I can say that it's really nothing much there.compared to what we currently have on the Xperia Z. There is a lot of added value on our stock Xperia z ROM.

I consider that a downgrade...nexus 4 got awesome dev.

If the device is great enough, not necessary to have a lot dev. Quantities does't means Quality.

From Nexus 4 to Xperia Z definitely an upgrade for me.

If a lot dev is required, then get only Nexus phone or Samsung, Samsung pretty sure for the moment still having more dev than others phone.

updated via PC Companion Yesterday to .253 !
Had the Update already 2 weeks ago but the OTA Update did not work bcuz my Xperia Z was rooted...so after gettin rid of waiting for a update i made it via USB...

Now I lost my Root but I dont care really, only 3 bloatware adds and the improvements just convinces me stay not rooted for now.

Im in Spain and my Xperia Z is C6603... Hope they put out the new one soon!

also plz write the change log or what you notice in this new edtion like is the camera work good in low light now and take better photos in normall light because mine have very bad photos xperia z software 253

C6602: Generic TW
C6603: Generic BE, Generic HK, TMN PT, Generic ES, Vodafone UK
See [INFO] Latest firmware version per customization (region/branding).

I believe those firmwares have all been released around the same time (Thursday 6th June). Oddly enough, during the past week, no single new firmware has been released for C6602/C6603.

If you delete any system app you will not be able to use ota.
