Thanks, I just think that when they release a firmware, they should do that for everybody who have the same device.

It would be more fair, because I think there are as many customer in Europe as in the US.

I wished to have a "parallel" treatment :)

WW is not good for me I need to have the DE, even if I am not German and use english as default language.

It's not a day or 2... many days have gone since ICS was available for US.
I am not interesetd in fw so far, just in Android 4 without rooting the Prime
You have to remember Asus isn't a HUGE company like the rest of the big guys like Apple or Samsung. They really don't have that much man power. Just be happy they actually have update unlike most of the other companies.

I am in the same boat I modified the build.prop a few days before and yesterday only added enable. Face unlock (even though it had rebooted before by me.. It felt like performing the first ever random reboot and now it just bootloops)

I do not think the tool will be able to be used to unlock it when you are in a soft brick because of the fact that I can not get my device to read on ADB! Which sucks! I requested an RMA anyways because if dead pixels and now this..

Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk

I knew it was something else involved. That's why I stay away from those type of mods. always cause issues. good luck getting it back running. hopefully theybwont notice the obvious.

I'm overclocked with all 4 cores maxed out at 1.6ghz using ViperControl mod and system tuner app. Update broke root n overclock but easily restored with voodoo. Then reapplied overclock n all that.
check it out

Same here the pause is the most annoying thing ever, and it's still here.. GPS is still inaccurate for me..

Interesting. I was just remarking to myself last night (yes, out loud; it was late and I was tired) how fast the stock browser is running. Went to a site that was notorious for causing blocking on my original Transformer and my Prime on previous builds, and it was able to scroll quickly in both directions with no blocking whatsoever.

I don't remember it happening with previously builds (but doesn't mean it wasn't), but it seemed like the text on the page was blurring, perhaps as a way of allowing it to scroll quickly but reducing the load. Whatever, it works well enough for me now.

This is from the sticky post. Posted by Gary from Asus

"1/19/12 Update - The ICS 9.4.2.11 update being rolled out now addresses the horizontal line and random signal line issues after the initial ICS load. It also addresses poor video playback (especially YouTube), however if you still have the YouTube corruption problem after this update, please uninstall then reinstall Flash from the app market. This patch also addresses the random reboot problem after the ICS update but we still have another patch that is in qualification testing at NVIDIA to fully solve these problems."

Update seems to have borked my GPS. Mine wasn't that bad before, I didn't really see what all the fuss was about. Now mine works like it did for all the people that were fussing before. :(

What do you mean by this?

If you mean you deleted all files in /System and then rebooted before trying to update, then you are screwed. Your device will not boot because it has nothing to boot into.

You have a soft-brick until bootloader can be unlocked and system reflashed.

There are folks who posted in this thread that they were able to take the files from the system dump and update install them in the /system directory again. How did they do this? Also, I would expect during boot up, it would recognize that an update was out there, go into recovery and install the files contained in the ZIP. I was thinking the problem may have been that you need to rename the US_epad-user-9.4.2.7.zip to update.zip. Or, is there a way to use ADB to push the US_epad-user-9.4.2.7.zip to a specific location on the device, or on the microSD card where the system will recognize the update and install?

Does anyone have any idea why the Build Number went down sequentially on this latest release?

Build 8.8.3.29 - 2011-12-02

Build 8.8.3.33 - 2011-12-23

Build 9.4.2.7 - 2012-01-06

Build 9.4.2.11 - 2012-01-17

You cannot update from recovery at the moment, it simply is not possible as ASUS have not released any method of doing so.

Other people have simply pasted the apks back into /system/app whilst inside a working system. If you have actually deleted EVERYTHING from /system (please say that you didn't do this) then you are definitely out of luck.

Earlier in the thread folks posted stuff like this:

I had removed system apks as well before the update. The way I fixed mine was by going to Asus site and redownloaded the the US_epaduser9_4_2_7 Update firmware. It re-downloaded 4.0.3 and recovered all my missing sys apks. Just finished downloading the latest just now with no issues.

Then, follow-up posts stating, yes, do this and yes this worked for me. I did all the other stuff like used Voodoo to back up root and everything.

Yes, I removed the /system/app apks. Now we're saying don't remove the system files because it will brick your device.

No options? I'm now SOL...

Yea, I've been trying this update for a couple days now. Still no success. :(

Seems like a routing issue. My home and work connections (both RCN) couldn't get to it, but I tried tethering through ATT and got it right away.

Yes, I did delete some /system files, like email and calculator, that I would never use (since I use K-9 and Real Calc instead). I always have deleted those on custom ROMs on my OG Droid, so it's probably a bad habit I should have broken for my Prime.

Is there a system dump for the ICS update? I saw a couple that were posted before the ICS update and one deodexed version of ICS, but I'm not sure deodexed would work.

For anyone not able to take the OTA, I posted the manual update file last night and NoxiousNinja reposted/hosted it on multiple servers for download.

This should work for those of you in the US not getting it yet, or who have the unknown serial number and can't get OTAs.

If this was helpful please add a thanks to both myself and NoxiousNinja! (BTW it is posted in android dev forum)

You guys who have done stuff with root are brave. I'm waiting for the updates to slow down before I attempt any custom stuff. No need to confuse myself as to the cause of issues should they occur. I'm staying vanilla for awhile!!

This is not a GPS fix at all, people reporting GPS improvement are mostly going through Placebo due to firmware version change. GPS is obstructed just as much as before, the driver might be better handling GPS signals it finds, but it cannot find more signals and you cannot use it for navigation. Otherwise people would post about improvements all around, but that's not the case, some have it and some don't is the same situation as before.

According to ASUS UK this fix was to fix the screen banding issues and graphical glitches.
