I haven't found a Gcam that work on our Nokia 7.1 running Android 10.
By default they do nothing or freeze if pushing the shutter button.
If changing the output folder to the common DCIM/Camera, they save a fully green picture. So there was probably a folder access right issue at first. Now there is still a problem with the GCam's config vd or phone.

None works at the moment.

I've had a look at my logcat, and I think it's an issue with SELinux - several related errors appear when clicking the shutter button:

Maybe setting SELinux to permissive will improve the situation? I cannot test this, due to some remotely administered apps on my phone.

Before, there's also some OIS related error (the Nokia 7.1 doesn't have optical stabilization), but I think that's fine, as they appear during the view targeting too.

There's also more errors about a linearization module:

Yesterday's December security update fixed the issue for me!

EDIT - and it's gone. It worked the first time I opened the app, saving photos; and now it got broken again. Really weird.

Hi, In my case the app cannot write in the gallery. I take the photo but is not written in the folder....
Gcam was so perfect, I hope we can get it back.

Same here. When I restart the device, the Gcam works for some time, it can take a few shots. Then after a while, it again stops working. Nokia 7.1 TA-1097.
Gcam- Tried with all compatible ones.

Try to select Google Photo Gallery in Gcam settings. If I select it, HDR+ is working for me (but not the Night Shot - if I use it, it stops saving again). I'm using Cstark's mode.

  • Add "PX" to EXIF software tag to help differentiate photos from PX Mod
  • Enable HDR+ Enhanced on Pixel 4 (turn on in Settings>Advanced)
  • Add manual exposure slider which will hide when appropriate. You must enable the slider in PX Mod Settings>Manual Exposure Control near the bottom. You must use Night Sight, Portrait Mode (with PX Mod Settings>Portrait HDR+ Enhanced), or Camera Mode (use HDR+ Enhanced).

  • Uninstall previous Camera PX and Camera P3 if you still have it.
  • After uninstall delete whole DCIM folder in a phone internal memory (non-mandatory)
  • Then after installation, clear app data of Camera PX.

  • Disable Super Resolution Zoom (mandatory)
  • Disable Force Sabre Merge Method (OFF) (mandatory)

  • Video stabilization: Nokia 7+ doesn't have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) so disable this option.
  • Also sound is garbage on every GCam port, so for video purposes is better to use a Nokia camera app.
    
  • NON-ZSL frame count: Choose between 5 or 7 or 10 or 15 (test yourself - 7 is my choice now)
  • Selfie illumination for the front camera: your choice
  • Face retouching for the front camera: OFF or Natural

A small update about this "Google CAMera v7.2.014 PX MOD v4.3 port by @cstark27" :

• It works quite well!
• After a few days (and not 10mn like the previous version), it will stop working. But instead of not taking photo, it reboots my phone. Weird, but on the other hand it kind of auto-resolves the issue.

I have not yet tried this one, but the previous version works like a charm.

UPDATE: The 7.3 update mentioned above DOES NOT work on my phone. I've reverted back to the last 7.2 release.
