AT&T N900t vs. T-Mobile N900T ??

... there is absolutely no reason to buy AT&T's Note 3...
T-Mobile's Note 3 (N900T):
I use AT&T's network, but I'm not under contract, and was planning on purchasing the Note3 full-price from the AT&T store tomorrow . . .

You have my attention . . .
. . . Can anyone confirm the claims above?

-> Unlocked Bootloader
Seems confirmed that AT&T's version will be locked
(androidandme.com seemed to confirm this back in August . . )

-> Works Perfectly with AT&T's LTE
I have read about networks using specific "bands" for voice & LTE.
Is it true that there is no concern for an AT&T customer like myself to purchase a T-Mobile G-Note-3?

This is obviously my biggest concern.

-> Wireless Charging Works!
Is this unique to T-Mobile?
(will the AT&T version for example not have this capability?)

Lesser concerns would be T-mobile branding etc.
I'd prefer a clean phone, but it's the function that most concerns me.

Good question TEKHD, Can anyone confirm any of this?

LTE -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2464498 (APN screenshot a few posts back in this forum we are talking)

Wireless Charging -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466111&page=3 (Post 30)

I really don't know yet if AT&T's Note 3 has wireless charging... but I guess it will...(since Note 2 has it)

You should buy AT&T Note 3 because it is $130 cheaper than T-Mobile Note 3. (I just bought an AT&T branded Note 3 off of eBay for $620) :)

New. The guy doesn't have a box but everything else is new( or so he says). But even if it was used it's still a great deal ( I mean how 'used' could it be? It just released today).
Just be careful. People are getting burned left and right by galaxy "clones" around VA. If it just got released today, and he has no box...that's somewhat of a red flag.

I suppose you could also find a deal for the T-Mo version too . . . , Personally, I"m more concerned about the reasons TEKHD mentioned over cost:

Just take a look at the AT&T's Note 3 Development Section...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2586

and now the T-Mobile Note 3 Development Section...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2565
Since this phone is arguably a lot to do with the S-pen,
I'm interested in future ROM's that could keep features like "One Handed" modes and the "S-Pen" software,
but remove the bloat from the OS.

If you're buying it flat out, I would 100% go with tmobile
That's what you have really opened my eyes to!
I'm looking for any caveats . ..

Undoubtedly the development experience will be better for the T-mobile
(atleast untill we have an unlocked AT&T bootloader)

But will I be compromising in any way with my AT&T service by picking up a T-mobile version?

TEKHD says "no" . . . Is he right?

http://androidfannetwork.com/2013/10/02/guide-use-unlocked-t-mobile-galaxy-note-3-on-att/ seems to agree . .

TEKHD . . . Can you still use AT&T only Apps like Visual Voice-mail?

I'll keep my att note 3 and wait for root. It's too risky to trade my att note 3 for a Tmobile version without them blacklisting it / reporting it lost or stolen.

Err, major red flags. Phone out for a day and he has no box? Sounds weird, but I hope it works out for him.

Agreed 100%, that's what I did. Mainly because of the locked bootloader stuff. Plus the phone will work on every network, very cool if you're going the pre-paid route, can easily jump between T-Mobile and AT&T mvno's every month or when traveling.

Even if you buy the phone flat out like I am going to do, the T mobile version comes out to be a lot more expensive ( unless of course I wanna wait a couple weeks or more for Negri to finally get their T mobile phones in stock).

Price for ATT: 725$ + taxes
Price for T Mobile: 745$ + 10$ SIM + 30$ for prepaid plan + taxes + 25$ to unlock SIM
Or 708$ + 10$ SIM + 50$ for regular monthly plan + taxes + 25$ to unlock SIM

Then there is the whole insurance thing too. If the T mobile phone breaks, you can't go back to t mobile cause you won't have service. I would have to buy Square Trade for 99$ with a 99$ deductible per incident (which is really pricey). If I stick with ATT, I can just pay their monthly insurance which my work will cover as it is part of my cell phone bill which they pay for.

I just don't know if it is worth the extra cost to have root right away. I am totally new to android, but am coming from iPhone and IoS with a long history of always being jailbroken. However, I always jailbroken to add functionality to ios that Android has stock built in. That is a main reason why I am switching. I really don't think I will need to root right away as I am new to the Android OS and really like touch wiz with the S Pen features. I also actually like the idea of Knoxs as it can be useful for my job I think and I don't want to break it right away anyways by rooting the phone.

Oh decisions!!! I need to make up my mind this AM though cause I really want this phone one way or another.

Unlocked AT&T boot-loader . . . someday? (or just "root"?)

"wait for Root"
Do you mean Wait for "unlocked bootloader"?

Again, are we talking wait for "Root" or wait for an "unlocked bootloader"

If I am a person who will never consider custom ROMs then it's logical that I can just wait for "Root" as drmacrofish and Sam3gX;46160314 say . ..

BUT is there a possibility of waiting for "unlocked bootloader" ?

I don't plan on doing anything for the first few months while my phone is under warranty, but eventually I would like to have some options available down the road.
I would be willing to wait to do this, but not if it's "never" going to happen, or far from possibility.

What are the chances of getting the AT&T Note-3 where the T-Mobile one is NOW down the road?
(Another factor is this may be Much harder due to Knox.)

Tmobile VS. AT&T Note-3 . . .

Hmmm... unlock phone with code... insert AT&T's sim... done... (you may also want to add AT&T's APN, but it works automatically anyway)

T-Mobile's Note 3 has the same bands as the AT&T plus an extra band (1700) so... you get more with TMO variant...
I bought the TMO NOTE 3, unlocked the SIM Card and then installed the ATT SIM Card. I had to add ATT APNs to make it work - and each tiem I have flashed a rom I have had to add the APNS - I am kind of used to that though from flashing International ROMS on my S4 - so it is really no big deal. Considering I have the NOTE 3 rooted and running a Custom Rom with Theme right now is all the justification I need for the additional step of adding APNs manually. :)

By the way - I have great ATT Service so I will probably stay with ATT forever - but I will never buy an ATT phone again

I am not willing to give up AT&T's better-designed 4G and 4G LTE icons.

Jk jk carry on gentlemen...

Well, I did decide to go with the AT&T version. I am so new to Android that I think it will be awhile before I am looking to gain root and all anyways. Hopefully someone finds a way eventually for the AT&T version though. It was just that it was going to cost me like an additional 80$ for the t mobile version right now and I could not justify that to myself yet...

I did get it from BB though and have 30 days to return. :)

heres something to look at...

Compare the ''ROM DEVELOPMENT" section in T-Mobile v Sprint, Verizon and AT&T. You eill notice they are all empty... except T-Mobile. Its what we flashaholics need.
