Even if you buy the phone flat out like I am going to do, the T mobile version comes out to be a lot more expensive ( unless of course I wanna wait a couple weeks or more for Negri to finally get their T mobile phones in stock).

Price for ATT: 725$ + taxes
Price for T Mobile: 745$ + 10$ SIM + 30$ for prepaid plan + taxes + 25$ to unlock SIM
Or 708$ + 10$ SIM + 50$ for regular monthly plan + taxes + 25$ to unlock SIM

Then there is the whole insurance thing too. If the T mobile phone breaks, you can't go back to t mobile cause you won't have service. I would have to buy Square Trade for 99$ with a 99$ deductible per incident (which is really pricey). If I stick with ATT, I can just pay their monthly insurance which my work will cover as it is part of my cell phone bill which they pay for.

I just don't know if it is worth the extra cost to have root right away. I am totally new to android, but am coming from iPhone and IoS with a long history of always being jailbroken. However, I always jailbroken to add functionality to ios that Android has stock built in. That is a main reason why I am switching. I really don't think I will need to root right away as I am new to the Android OS and really like touch wiz with the S Pen features. I also actually like the idea of Knoxs as it can be useful for my job I think and I don't want to break it right away anyways by rooting the phone.

Oh decisions!!! I need to make up my mind this AM though cause I really want this phone one way or another.
SIM unlocking (atleast for TMobile, only carrier I can speak out of experience for) is free for TMo. as long as you buy the phone in full you shouldn't have a problem. if they tell you you need to have the account for a certain amount of time, try going online and using their Chat.

And like many other devices, I'm hoping with a lot of outcry, AT&T's Note 3's bootloader will eventually be opened... Sooner or later.
S4 is still locked down... Been out for months... That phone is no longer relevant in my eyes.

My concern is that this phone will not get unlocked until its no longer relevant.

I am not willing to give up AT&T's better-designed 4G and 4G LTE icons.
Funniest post EVER!

I bought the TMO NOTE 3, unlocked the SIM Card and then installed the ATT SIM Card. I had to add ATT APNs to make it work - and each tiem I have flashed a rom I have had to add the APNS - I am kind of used to that though from flashing International ROMS on my S4 - so it is really no big deal. Considering I have the NOTE 3 rooted and running a Custom Rom with Theme right now is all the justification I need for the additional step of adding APNs manually. :)

By the way - I have great ATT Service so I will probably stay with ATT forever - but I will never buy an ATT phone again
How much did the whole package cost?? T-Mobile plan, sim unlock & everything??

Should be around 820 or more

708 +50 tax+ 25 unlock+ 50 first moth pay + head ache of cancelling and credit hit

Prepaid 740+ 60 + 25 + 20

Negri 689 - 10 $ coupon but wait for around a week or more

$703 for TMO GN3 - $24.95 to unlock.- I saw someone later posted that if you ask TMOBILE to unlock the phone hey will as long as you have paid for the phone. I didn't know that before I unlocked it - and I cannot personally confirm it. Good Luck.
Dont forget the added expenses and tax

For those who are using T-Mobile N3 on AT&T, it's been almost a week, how is the phone so far? Any overheating or any other issues? Thanks

Thanks... The price just maybe a bit to steep for me though. The deal I'd get from At&t is just a lot cheaper. It may not be worth it just for the option of throwing custom roms on it like I so love to do. May have to find a different phone. DAMN!!

I wouldnt say it was the smoothest route to take as ATT dropped my data plan as their system didnt recognize the T mobile IMEI number. Then I had to contact ATT C/S to have my old grandfathered data plan put back, they put it back but now they havent used the LTE version LOL.
Sorry to hear that, hope it will fix itself. I wonder if others are having this issue too?

Currently in chat with ATT this is fun :(

Thank you for your patience! Your AT&T Representative will be with you shortly.

Welcome! You are now chatting with 'Marianne Johnson'

Marianne Johnson: Hi Frederick! Thank you for chatting with me. This is Marianne ready to help with your data plan update.

Frederick : Hi

Frederick : ATT store accidentaly dropped my 2 gb lte data plan but that got resolved yesterday

Frederick : However, I noticed the plan they used in non LTE.

Frederick : I would like the LTE version for my 2GB data pro please.

Marianne Johnson: I see. I'm so sorry for what had happened.

Marianne Johnson: Let me quickly check the account for you.

Frederick : its okay, it was an honest mistake the rep at the store made.

Marianne Johnson: Thank you for understanding Frederick.

Frederick : not a problem.

Frederick : Are you still there?

Marianne Johnson: Yes.

Frederick : ok

Marianne Johnson: Sorry for the delay Frederick.

Frederick : no worries.

Marianne Johnson: Still checking on it.

Marianne Johnson: Frederick, thank you for patiently waiting.

Frederick : no problem.

Marianne Johnson: I'm trying to add the 2GB data LTE version but this data plan is a gradndfathered data plan.

Marianne Johnson: Let me check what I can do...

Frederick : ok

Marianne Johnson: Frederick, please do allow me 3 - 5 minutes to review this further. Thank you.

Frederick : ok

Marianne Johnson: Frederick, thank you for waiting.

Marianne Johnson: It shows that since the 2GB is a grand fathered plan it's still an LTE capable.

Frederick : When I review my plan it shows at 2GB data pro

Frederick : 2 days ago it showed as 2GB Data pro LTE.

Marianne Johnson: Yes, its only for the description.

Frederick : I need it to show LTE like it did before.

Frederick : When I upgraded from my iphone 4s to Samsung S4 they changed the plan to 2gb datapro LTE and that is what I need after the mistake the rep at the store made.

Frederick : the rep at the store removed my grandfathered 2gb data pro lte

Frederick : I had to spend time yesterday and get it re-instated.

Frederick : They re-instated the 2gb but forgot the LTE version.

I had no problems walking into a T-Mobile store and just buying the phone by itself. It was 740+tax with no sim or line commitment or anything. I had the phone unlock codes while I was still in the store (cellunlocker dot net), and I was using ATT LTE on it within about 15 minutes. Super easy.

Hmmm... unlock phone with code... insert AT&T's sim... done... (you may also want to add AT&T's APN, but it works automatically anyway)

T-Mobile's Note 3 has the same bands as the AT&T plus an extra band (1700) so... you get more with TMO variant...
Are you Serious?? If yes then you just made my choice! I was on the fence between the G2 and Note 3 but if the Tmobile variant works with AT&T's LTE then i'm sold! Negrielectronics is selling the T-mobile Note 3 for 689$ unlocked.
