New M3 Incoming From China, Questions on What to Do First

So I got a new M3 incoming from China to the US, it's the 32 GB Wifi model, presumably C233.

I have been reading a bunch of threads now, but confused on what to do first once I receive the tablet.

1 ) Let the tablet upgrade to the latest Chinese firmware, and then install the C100 oem info files? Will that work or brick the tablet?

2) Or should I install the C100 oem info first, and then upgrade the firmware from there?

Planning to use the C100 version to get the 5 Ghz network activated. Or is it better to use the US oem info and then manually enable the 5 Ghz supprt?
