A German website (Huaweiblog.de) reported that looking at the Synaptics' estimated supplies of fingerprint sensors for late year 2016 there is a reference to a Huawei Mate 9 model...

Seems a bit too soon to me, but a lot of manufacturers seem to want to jump on the VR bandwagon, and I'd imagine Huawei wants in to, so they may want to get a higher speced phone with the latest chipset out quickly.

P9/P9 Plus, Honor V8 and Mate 8 GPUs are all the same...
I'm curious to see how the Mali T880MP4 will perform with a QHD display.

I agree that the Mali T880MP4 GPU is good enough for normal use but not the top for extreme gaming, maybe the next Mate 9 GPU will fill (at least partially) the gap with the competitors.
