It can run 1080 but as your Tv/monitor is capeble of only 720p there won't be any benefit for you in doing so.

USB power when off

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if it is possible to stop the device from powering the USB port when I turn it off?
I have a USB hard disk connected and I'm 99% sure that it never powers down. It does so, only if I unplug the MX, which of course is not a solution..

Thanks

The device doesn't actually power of at all I think, it just turns the screen off. I have it playing tune in radio over Bluetooth and it just keeps on going even if I switch the box off and the light goes red.

I've already tried all that, install, reinstall, delete.. Kodi system info shows 2cores running, and cache full (not always) , maybe it's only showing active cores not standby or it's bug.. And error in recovery cannot load misc? How to get rid, somebody says its normal

Cheers

hi, how to install xposed?

---------- Post added at 09:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:31 PM ----------

On the 2/16G model it works fine. Have not tested on the others.

Hello, which guides you followed to install Xposed framework?

Or you could give me a few lines to install Xposed framework?

Thank you.

The easiest way to install xposed

To install Xposed your don't need any custom recovery installed. Just follow the next steps and make sure you have root enabled. I tried this by myself and it's working fine. I'm using lollipop (5.1.1)

1. Download Xposed framework (xposed-v74-sdk22-arm.zip)
from:
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
If using lollipop choose: sdk22/ arm/ xposed-v74-sdk22-arm.zip

2. Download official Xposed installer (XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk) (APK ONLY!) from:
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=3034811

3. Install FlashFire from the Google Play Store

4. Flash Xposed framework using FlashFire. (Just use the flash .zip option. Do not check any of the boxes) (This will take a few minutes, your android tv box will reboot and will update installed apps.

5. Install official Xposed installer APK

6. You have Xposed! Enjoy!

Here's firmware 108L1 to install from SD card : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1ye8kfnRF3BUy1qQnFwUEh1SWs

    Flash MXIII-G TV Box Steps:
    1. Format one micro-sd card.
    2. Download the firmware and unpack it, copy all file to micro-sd card.
    3. Insert the micro-sd card to MXIII-G tv box.
    4. Plug in the power supply.
    5. Keep pressing the recover button (the button is inside the AV port) by a toothpick.
    6. Turn on the power button and wait until the the Android robot appear on the TV screen, then release the toothpick.
    7. Just wait until the Android TV Box reboot automatically. Done.

What air mouse do you use?

Just for the record, the two I use are:

Gyroscope mini Fly Air Mouse T2 2.4GHz Wireless

    and

G61A 2.4G Wireless Air Mouse Six-axis Intelligent Remote Controller for TV BOX

But, I do not think it matters much, they all work pretty similarly. I tried others as well, there is not much difference, even the ones that do not look ergonomic are small enough to fit in your palm, and to be used comfortably. Since these are radio devices, they do not have to be in the line of sight with the player. You have to get used to using it at first (it has a completely different feeling than the regular mouse), but after a day or two it becomes a natural extension of your arm.

I do not recommend small radio keyboards though, as I bought one too, tried it for two days, and have never really used it since then (not even once).

    - Have you been able to disable the volume control from the MXIII ? It is connected with HDMI to my AV amplifier. If the volume is accidently lowered, then a very bad noise is transmitted to the HDMI...

I do not have such symptoms, although the reason may be that I use the fiber optic cable to connect the box to my amplifier. Still, I use HDMI to connect to a TV, and have no such problems either, even if TV's volume is on.
Therefore, I cannot reproduce your problem, but you can fix the volume to the max position using Tasker (paid) or Llama (free) Android app. Depending on when exactly this noise happens, it can help or not.

    - On your Harmony remote, what device did you choose to drive Kodi with the MXIII ?

It is explained in the post 44 in this thread (http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=62619644&postcount=44)

    Hi Rick,

If you want to have the same buttons (as the original MXIII), you have to specify MBX as manufacturer and MXIII as device.
If you want more buttons, you have to specify PIVOS as manufacturer and XIOS DS as device, but you have to copy the attached remote.conf (inside the .rar file) in /system/etc/ (make a backup or rename the existing remote.conf) and reboot your box.

Please note, that there are explanations in the remote.conf file, that can help you set up additional customizations.
IMPORTANT: If you edit any of these files (Vendor_0001_Product_0001.kl, remote.conf, keyboard.xml) you must update their access rights (R-W-X) to match the previous state, otherwise you will have problems with the remote.

I also used the Keymap add-on for Kodi to add and change some Kodi commands, but it would require the whole tutorial to explain in any detail.
    You can experiment :p

    Hey guys,

Edit: Stock Fw 316k4 Android 4.4 kitkat quicker download link

I received this android box recently and also suffered the google play services error to the point I just downloaded the android kitkat stock rom in the original post and flashed that onto my tv box and it works fine and is stable! The download was painstakingly slow so I have taken the liberty of upload this to my pretty powerful dedicated server, which is on a gigabit port hosted in a datacentre so actual decent download speeds! I don't know how long I will host this for, but probably for the lifetime I have this server, seeing as it's not exactly a big file and I have plenty of bandwidth it won't even touch the server lol. As far as I know these ROM's are totally legal so it's all good! Feel free to add this to the original post :')

If you don't like direct links just head to:
