**NEW** Native Hotspot hack for Sprint LG G3

Would like to say this is working flawlessly on ZV8 using stock root. Quick question, anyone use this alot with unlimited data and ever get a notification from Sprint for using more data than you usually do?

When i turn on native hot spot my GPS location is off, WAY OFF by at least 10 miles.

I have tested everything,

HOT SPOT ON TESTS:
-GPS and networks
-Networks Only
-GPS only
-IZat Accelerated Location On and Off
None of the above settings seem to be able to get a good GPS lock.

HOT SPOT OFF TESTS:
-Wifi on = Insant GPS lock
-GPS and networks
-Networks Only
-GPS only
-IZat Accelerated Location On and Off
All of the above while hotspot is OFF give me a GREAT gps location.

Is anyone else experiencing this as well?

Has anyone found a fix for this?

Have been using for months and nothing from Sprint. Yes i have unlimited data.

I have been told that if you use 3rd party apps (for example FoxFi or WifiTetherFree) they will notice and send you a notice,

Has anyone had issues with setting fc when selecting more under wireless network after installing xposed? I ask here because I was going to hotspot and couldn't get settings to work

YEs this is a known issue.

Quick fix.

Use a settings shortcut on your home screen.

1. Add a widget on your home screen
2. Choose Settings widget
3. Select Wifi Hotspot

Done.

You can try ##UPDATE# in the dialer. It'll reset. Then try it again.
You may need to do this again after that.
Read through the thread and the link in the OP, if you have issues still. I'm sure you'll get it working.

I'm back at my uncle's place trying again. It still won't behave. I tried the update thing numerous times. Nothing. Any more ideas. This is rough. I even tried talking to wifi tether router's developer. His suggestions didn't work. Waiting on another response from him.

i have ZV6 deodexed and i went through the steps of getting shortcut master, and editing the proper entries. i still do not have the wifi hotspot options come up in my settings. any insight?

My native hotspot just stopped working went back into shortcut manager and tried getting into the menu and now it won't open has anyone had this happen???

Sounds like u installed xposed try the different ones with shortcut master if not disable xposed

Happen to me, some how the dun was removed from apn. Maybe ota or something. Check to make sure it's there. May need to update profile and re-edit apn.

PRL;s update sometimes automatically, as you know if you update your PRL it will remove the DUN from APN and you will have to repeat the process again. easy fix.

Spot on man. Didn't even think to check after a PRL update. It looked like it messed up both my MMS and tethering, but I re-editing them back in, rebooted and I am off tethering and MMS works again.

Running BarePop and can't seem to open the Wi-Fi hotspot settings even through shortcuts set by Nova's Activities widget.

I have two options under Settings in Activities:
Wi-Fi hotspot - Settings$TetherSettingsActivity
Wi-Fi hotspot - TetherSettings

When clicked both of them open a settings window for about 0.5s that is totally blank except for the teal top bar with the title Wifi Hotspot. Open and immediately close.

Any ideas?

Need some help

I have the settings all in and it works but my signal reverts to 3g and stays there. I have full LTE with the original PRL and Profile but when I put in ,dun it is stuck on 3G. Any Advice? Thanks

Did this stop working for anyone else? Tried to use it today (probably been a week since using it last) and everything is setup correctly with shortcut master and everything appears to work but when trying to connect with a pc I get "Windows was unable to connect" Ideas?

Working again. Bizarre, the only thing I can figure is that Connections Optimizer somehow affected the hotspot. I had optimizer turned off because I was getting 3g connections in places where I know there is 4g. Seemed to help it keep a 4g connection. I turned the optimizer back on and restarted my phone and this is working again.

I have a lgls885 sprint. I have it rooted. And originally used my hotspot through foxfi. Worked great.. That one time now things can connect to it but no internet. Im trying to do this and have the sm app and have SU granting permission but after i search APN and click thr 4th setting. (Or anything for that matter ) i get a long error. Something like "error 2 cannot connect to profile manager . is app running" alot more after that.

Hotspot settings

I was on Fulmics rom(LS 990). I can see hotspot toggle on my notification drawer but if I long press to go to the menu it doesnt go. I am facing troubles to receive data from share it. In order for the share it to work on my device, I am just sending a small file from other phone to which i need to send data from my sprint, and later in the same screen i am sending data. By doing this procedure, can I access hotspot menu on my phone?

I am having a similar issue to as others, I'm on barecee-zvc I edit my settings but have no option for wifi tethering afterwards, I install a tethering widget, I can activate tethering and see the wifi network from my laptop, but I cant get to the tethering settings on my phone, which makes the wifi a generic name like lgg3-3435 and it has a pass key on it i don't know. Anyone have a work around for this?
