I ordered a replacement phone for the screen assurance program to fix my cracked screen. The new one came and somehow I must have accepted the OTA push to SU4TL-49 I'm angry at myself and sad because now I have no ability to unlock the BL and root the replacement. I'm at a loss of what to do here because I would rather use my old phone with the cracked screen then have a locked BL.

Can I swap any of the hardware from the old to the replacement to fix this? I have only a day or so before I need to ship my old one back to avoid the charges.

Thanks in advance.
Swapping hardware with a 1 day time limit when the entire cost of a new phone is on the line sounds like a recipe for disaster. I wouldn't try it. If I were you, I would sell this phone and find another one on Swappa with SU4TL-44 or lower.

Just out of curiosity, are you positive that you took the OTA to get SU4TL-49, or did it come with it?

Yeah, they may be shipping it with SU4TL-49.

hi all, I would like to flash the modem only (stock, rooted, bootloader unlocked via sunshine), but I'm curious to see if I flash the new TWRP recovery, is the 3.0.2 version for marshmallow only? or, what is the name/location of the modem, and I'll just back that up manually.

thanks!

Twrp is device specific, not os specific. It is its own operating system.

Call me a hopeless optimist, but I reverted back to stock 49 + root in preparation for Marshmallow. Keep in mind, I got no clues, hints or soak solicitations. Been around Verizon long enough to get a rough sense. Plus, I'll be away on a trip. Perfect timing to get an OTA.

I installed the modem only as kindly instructed in the OP, but when enabling VoLTE, there seems to be excess static, as a result, I had to disable the VoLTE.
In preparation for Marshmallow, I am considering installing the OTA. I'm aware of the steps to flash the stock recovery, install the OTA, then re-flash TWRP. However, my concern is that since I have Xposed installed, I'm curious to see what other folks have done that had Xposed installed and installed the OTA. I vaguely recall that there is some "uninstall" file that needs to be flashed first, then actually uninstall Xposed?
Can someone please weigh in with their steps?

thanks!
