Just so you know, I lost root for good with this update. I cannot restore it with Voodoo OTA RootKeeper. Didn't have this problem with previous updates.
SuperSU update appeared in Google Play today. Updated. I could then successfully restore root in OTA RootKeeper. Happy :)

Quick question guys, I just got my tablet last night and currently reading, I have build US 9.4.3.30 stock ICS and I've successfully had NVflash, install CMW and root the device. I have the official update lying on my android task bar I just postponed it while I did the NVflash can you point me to the right direction if I should:

1. Install OTARootKeeper then install the official update then restore root?
2. Flash JB custom rom?

Thanks in advance guys!

If you've unlocked - it won't update

Sooo I hadn't used my TF300 in awhile, forgot it was rooted, and let the OTA update install.

I did not previously do the warranty-voiding unlock. Is there any way to get root back without unlocking the bootloader, or am I SOL?

If you didn't do the root backup thing, and you are on jb, then you'll need to unlock to install recovery then root.

That's what I was afraid of...thanks.

I'm still on the fence about unlocking. If an unrelated hardware failure happens (like a bad charging port or something), I'd rather be covered..

Some people report warranties honored despite unlock and hardware failure, but I do see your point. I've had mine long enough to not care :)

2nd day since i own this tablet :) ! first time when i got home i saw that there is an update :D ! updated without any problems, using the stock rom.
it feels smooth enough for me, maybe sometimes some small microlags , hard to notice.
+decent display, good viewing angles , colors a bit washed out
-it has a small flex of backcover on the left side on a tighter grip ( I can hear it touching the motherboard) - is it normal? Ordered a leather case, so this one is SOLVED :D
-no gorilla glass but my leather case includes a screen protector and a stylus pen :D
+EXCELLENT sound quality :eek::eek: , even better than most of the laptops !! the sound is very deep and crystal clear (my laptop has also great quality but the sound is not so deep, mostly high and medium frequency, 0 low frequency - bass )

I dont' know about the battery life on previous software versions but i got 6.5 hours from first charge 100%-0% : streamed about 1 hour, played a lot Plague Inc. about 2 hours ( give or take 15 minutes) , some facebook and installing few apps, read some docs and ebooks, maybe 1.5 - 2 hours, and 30 mins of skype videocall.

is it good? is it bad?

OVERALL: I LOVE IT:eek::D , i don't think I could have bought something better for 299 Euros ( iPad mini was 329 - good build quality and screen - but it's lower spec and ... I'm not an Apple fan :D !!! better software freedom :) )

EDIT: this morning played 1h 25m of Plague Inc. with a total of display 1h 42m (77% screen drain) with little FB and mail&stuff. Now I'm at 72%: WiFi on , GPS and BT off , brightness set on auto (maybe it was 30-40%). Any opinnions? thanks :)

Rooted on 10.4.2.13

I have not received the OTA update to 10.4.2.20 yet, but thinking of installing it. I am currently on 10.4.2.13 and I have unlocked my device and rooted it. I am kind of a noob but I have a couple questions?

1. When I take the new update will I loose root?
2. How can I install the update without loosing root?

Thanks,
Travis

1. Yes you will lose root and recovery because the system and recovery partitions are overwritten, but since you are unlocked you can get root and recovery back easily. Just follow step 3 of the root guide in the general section. Again, this is if you have an unlocked bootloader.
