New owner - How are your devices

I have just ordered myself the LeEco Le Pro3 - http://www.dx.com/p/letv-x720-andro...-phone-w-6gb-ram-64gb-rom-rose-gold-852491694

It's a hell of a device from the specifications and all the reviews that I've seen seem mostly impressed. I probably should have purchased one ages ago when I first saw them for sale but it's better late than never :p

Anyway, How are your phones holding up?

What upgrades and updates do you recommend? Any problems that I need to be aware of? I've just read that the camera glass is easily breakable and sometimes the phone has charging problems?

Mine is still running good had since Nov of last year. I recommend unlocking the bootloader then putting in a custom Rom. The stock ROM is extremely bloated running 6.0.1 and has... Quirks. However battery life in incredible. If you are looking for a more traditional ROM I recommend the latest AICP battery life is better than some other ROMs and it's running the security patches from November. Also unlike the stock ROM fingerprint scanner works in apps. And chrome doesnt crash like the stock ROMs. The one issue I've found is the USB-C audio doesn't work so the headphones and adapter are useless. Also forget about Android pay. Get yourself a good case and the camera won't be an issue with cracking. Oh get the pixel camera app and load it in. Helps immensely with the quality of pictures you take. Toss the included charger and cable they seem to fry phone's and get an other from a reputable company. I bought a LG V20 about 2 months ago - it was the phone I wanted back when I bought this one because of the price. I'm back to this one after a couple months of using the V20. For my usage this phone is a better fit (root, battery life, front facing speakers, and the screen color is better on the leeco)

Only issue I've found with the hardware is the camera lens. Mine has 2 big cracks across it, one along the sensor.
(Doesn't impact image quality unless aiming at large light)

Only issue I've been facing is that sometimes the phone plays audio through the speakers instead of my headphones, which are connected using a VOXLINK USB-C 3.5mm headphone jack and charging adaptor. The stock USB-C headphone dongle did the same thing, except more frequently (every few weeks). I have to reboot the phone for it to play through the USB-C dongle. It's really annoying. Don't know what's causing it. A hardware or software issue? The dongles?

Seems like some iPhone 7s also have this issue.

This guy mentions that his phone "freezes up" in the cold. I'm not sure what that has to do with the headphone dongle, but maybe he's trying to say that the dongle doesn't function in the cold either--he has to remove it and plug it back in to work. Which has me thinking. The only times I've had issues with the headphone dongle on my LeEco is when I was out and about commuting. And it's been really cold here in Canada. So maybe the dongle is freezing up? IDK.

Issue could be related to the sound drivers: the phone gets confused and doesn't recognize the adapter, and instead plays through the speakers instead. I wonder if another ROM like LOS or Paranoid Android might solve this. IDK.

I can't wait to get my hands on it now :D Seems like not much problems.

The included charger does look a bit suspect :p Will my Nexus 6p charger work with this phone?

Oh and which post is an ad?

I have 2 of these phones. I would make the same recommendation as everyone else.

Except, I recommend that you install Paranoid with Magisk.

Absolutely everything works... Everything. No issues with with Netflix or Pay apps ( passes safety net) and the IR remote works too.
