No way to do on Stock?

It was on the right side for years, don't know why they had to change it to the left <.<

The "why": to standardize Android OS for notches in the top-center. They moved the clock to the top-left and the status icons to the top-right, and limited the number of notification icons that show on the left to 4 so there is always empty space in the middle, even if you have a good phone that doesn't have a notch chopped out of the top middle.

So, there's the "why" (still a dumb reason that needs to be undone).

yesterday I have updated to this version via OTA.
today I notice GPS does not work (tested with Maps and GPS test).

does anyone have experienced this issue?

Hey there,

I experienced the same on my XZ1 compact. I found out that with the Google Location Accuracy setting enabled, my device was trying to use everything (wifi, bluetooth, mobile masts) BUT the gps to locate my position, this rendered all maps and navigation apps useless.

So I disabled it like so: Settings -> Lock screen & security -> Location -> Advanced -> Google location accuracy -> Imrove location accuracy toggled off.

This way I can navigate again in the car, although pinpoint accuracy positioning is probably gone.

Downside is whenever I turn Location off, and then i turn on my navigation app (Waze), the app will request me to turn on Location with the press of a pop up button, and if I do, it automatically toggles the problematic Google Location Accuracy setting back on.

What I did was: i kept my location on at all times, accuracy settings toggled off, so only gps. I am using navigation on a daily basis, its a good way of not having to click half a dozen times to make your phone able to navigate again.

So far I haven't experienced a drastic battery drain caused by Location being on at all times.

Disable the location, then reboot. Open Google Maps, and let the Maps app re-enable and reset the location accuracy.

Best phone ever! After 2 years no problems at all, and with all the latest update is only improving. Super satisfied customer! P.s. The photo taken with this phone (stock camera) are still making the people say WOW!
