Cannot uninstall even when inactive/ losing sms notifications

I'm running this on a stock tilt rom and I am having problems with uninstalling it. I run the exe again to make it inactive and when I go to delete the file in startup I get "Cannot delete 'vistahide battery guage': Theres has been a sharing violation. The source or destination may be in use.

I've also tried copying and pasting the vistahide file that is in startup to another folder and deleting it and now I have duplicate files that I cannot get rid of.

I'm trying to uninstall this because I'm not sure if it is what is causing me to sporadically lose any sms notifications. It seems since installing this I periodically will miss SMS messages because even though sound and vibrate notifications are on, I only am getting a sms notification on the today screen.

This is driving me crazy. Can someone please help me uninstall this?

This is what i did to get rid of it. Run it so that the program is no longer active and move it out of the folder using windows explorer. Just drag the file from /windows/startup to /. Then just do a soft reset and delete the file. I assume this will work but if it doesn't, create a folder in the startup folder and stick all the exes that you made in there, and move that folder. That's what i did by accident, but i assume it works exactly the same as moving the exe. Just make sure the rainbow bar thing isn't there when you move it, or it wont let you.

Can't imagine why someone would want to get rid of this... this is the best damn task bar battery meter I have seen.

Since there is hiding capability, I chose to hide a pixel every 24 pixels apart in portrait and every 32 pixels apart in landscape. Now I can very quickly estimate (down to 1%) how much battery is left without having to go through any kinda menu.

With other battery indicators I either have to squeeze my eyeballs to read the tiny number, or go back to today screen, or open up a specialty program, or estimate only very roughly. This is especially useful during a phone call when looking up how much battery is left is very difficult.

I like this also.

But how do you get rid of the default battery indicator that is in the taskbar?

"Normal"=dword:00202020

Could you explain how you set this up? I read the example stuff in the bottom of the OP, but I don't understand what the numbers correspond to (pixel locations?)

I'm looking for tools/means to diagnose a problem that I'm often getting with VistaHide.

At some points in time, the VistaHide process starts easting up about all the CPU capacity it can get. This slows the device down to an unusable level and sometimes even makes it hang. I searched the thread for some related keywords, but am I correct that this is not a known bug?

I'm currently switched over to Batti but VistaHige suited my needs perfectly, it's simple yet very elegant.

I took the liberty of cabbing up this application. It installs the v1.1.1 executable in \Program Files and creates a shortcut in \Windows\Startup. Simple as that.

I take no credit for the application.

Hi people, just installed this and loving it. However on my HD2 starting the exe again does hide VistaHide from the screen, but the exe is still running. You can check that with a taskmanager. And if you start it again it will show again on your screen, but you'll have two instances running on your phone. Before I noticed this I played with it and had several exe's running and slowing my phone to a hold.
Anyway still like it alot and will be using it.

How do I delete this app from my device? It never installed like a normal .cab and when I select to delete it, I get an error message stating I can't delete it. I have it disable.

Eh....nevermind. I figured out to reboot my HD2 and this caused all instances of the app to stop. I was then able to delete it.

How do you see instances of this app running? It doesn't appear in task manager. And how do you stop it from running?
