for those curious. the boot.img has zero changes. honesty the difference in sha1sum comes from literally adding zeros to the end of the file from the s251 boot.img.

so there are absolutely no changes to the stock kernel.

so much for lenovo giving us "updates" even the security patch level is the one from last year.

no. the only difference in blobs was Graphics firmware but that ended up being only the signing date.

That update is just a bugfix, no baseband or security patches update...

Im on stock can we install it through stock recovery??

I have just finished unlocking bootloader. Still in stock recovery and stock ROM. After installing the S252 update from OP post, I compared it with the before update version. The only difference are:
Kernel version date
Tue Nov 7 11:38:42 CST 2017 -> Fri Jun 8 11:43:36 CST 2018,
Build number
p2a42_S251_171107_ROW -> P2a42_S252_180608_ROW
fastboot flash mode BL:
BL: C0.00(2017-11-07 11:43:14) -> C0.00(2018-06-08 11:47:44)

Baseband version still unchanged at M8953_7000.100.02.06R
fastboot getvar all is also unchanged.
Not sure if there's any significant changes in other places.

He is imagining things, screen is the same. What changed was user space details. No new kernel or security updates as others have already noticed, like celox said.

I feel the UI is more fluid than before. Especially when I came back from custom roms.

Yes you can. I did it myself and had no problems with it. Everythong works fine.

Download the ZIP file, chang it name to UPDATE, put it on external sdcard. Boot your phone to recovery mode and select Apply Update. When it's done phone reboots.

Yes in root(sdcard) and renamed the file to update.zip as well..

Hmm. It should work. Make sure your sd card is not encrypted. Have a copy of the zip in internal storage root once and try.
