Did you flash any custom ROM earlier.. sometimes encryption may create provlem.
Better flash stock s244 fastboot file given in below link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p2/development/fastboot-files-stock-firmware-t3649914
Then update to s251 via ota.Then try s252 uodate.zip
I have never rooted or bl unlocked my phone still on stock s251. Do I need to reset my phone and try the same process to update to s252?

No need to factory reset if u haven't unlock the bootloader. Don't have any other suggestion now.
You can skip this update as the is no notable change

You should put the update file in the root of external storage, and external storage should not be encrypted.
File should be renamed as "update.zip"
Boot into recovery then, there's option to install update from external storage or something like that, (don't know exact option coz right now I am on custom rom) select that option and your device should be updated.

Oh!, have you checked the zip file if it was not downloaded correctly, and/or if it was copied correctly to the sd-card
coz, I followed the same method many times, whenever, I want to flash ota and faced no problem.
Anyways, as the folks said there's not much in the update.

I have flashed today after thinking allot, Currently didn't find any difference apart from build no as all said.

Update!
I could see there are minor performance improvement & noticable battery life improvement.

I believe that 99% users here don't have lags in the UI. Lags from stock come in Instagram and videos playing.
i didnt know about others, but i know i dont have laggs not in onstagram and not in video playng, i have flesh all of custom roms and all is shiit take my time all time, here is copy-past developers thay copying ither roms and put inside some little shiits and talk about new rom :))) i have lenovo p2 about 2 years and works fine , not one developers dont have to try fix one-key power save and all roms have same problems, this wana by developers take your time only you flash every day like new roms but thay all is same shiit.

It's nice to know that you have no lags on instagram, video playing, whatsapp stories, ecc.

Can you please link us the rom you used? Thanks
