so i just bought a sensation 4g, it seems to be rooted, and has a custom rom on it.

when it starts up, it has the beats audio logo on boot up. the biggest problem im having is that my phone has never gone into 4g area, and my friend has a sensation i put the two next to each other, and his is in 4g and mine is barely in 3g.

anyone know whats going on?

Try flashing radio for that build. Here>>>>>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178143 all the way at bottom. Put on sdcard boot into bootloader. It should see update. If not reboot bootloader option. Press up on volume to say yes update. Done. Reboot and remove file off sdcard. Danger!!!! If you dont know what your doing or what bootloader is. Read up first!!!!! Also go to your dialer and press #*#*4636*#*# and make sure wcdma preferred is selected under i think phone. Yes and also make sure you have the right ril file for new radio. You just flash ril through recovery.

T-Mobile rom lies about 4g. Next time you're with your friend, check settings -> about -> network and look at the network type. If it's utms, then it's 3g, but T-Mobile lists it as 4g. If Tyre getting H on your current rom (seems you're running an XE rom), then you're getting 4g.

ok so does the XE Rom really make a difference when using the phone? also so theres no need for me to change the radio on it?
Not sure what your first question is asking exactpy, and the second question; no, no reason the change radios.

Congratulations, you are rooted and have mike1986's custom ROM Android Revolution HD. I'm using the same ROM and radio. Don't worry, you have "4G" (as far as T-Mobile's point of view). Follow this link and look at the Q&A part, question #24. And since you are there, maybe you want to try the new ROM 4.1, it has the Sense 3.5 on it. ;)
