I'm guessing that's because the XZ1 and XZ1 Compact share the same software number as the XZP. Hopefully they add new Dialer, Display Flash and maybe Treble.

Treble you can modify your build prop if u r rooted. It is false change it to true

in the short term new dialer won't come to XZP maybe XZ1/C become old in future and they may consider :lol

I know this is the November security update and I also know it has been out for a while now in other countries and on other networks, all I was doing is letting the guys on here know the Customized UK version of the update had been released as it is a 47.1.A.5.51 update thread. I check Xpericheck regularly as I was waiting for the the UK version to be released myself.

I use the Customized UK version also....I like being later...no proof but sometimes I think things get fixed on the later releases. It seems to me that those who get them on day one have the most issues while those of us who get them later have the fewest issues. Maybe it is a placebo effect????

OK, let's say you open the phone dialer. AT the top are three tabs...a STAR which equals your frequent contacts/calls. The second tab is an icon of a clock...this is your most recent call list. The third tab is the contacts icon...now when you tap this icon all your contacts show up. Now when you're on this screen if you tap the three dots in the upper right corner you will see a choice for "Advanced contacts". When you tap on this it basically opens the contacts app that is in the app drawer. Now you will see in the upper left three horizontal bars...tap on these and you will now see all the various features of the contacts app like I mentioned previously. Is this not what you have??

Now if you want to show only certain groups when you open your contacts then click on the three horizontal bars, then go to settings, then you will see an option called "Contacts to display" and in here you can pick and choose which ones will display based on group membership.

Certainly there are third party contacts apps that do things differently but for me the default app does all I could ever need.

I do not know how to explain it to you more easily: I want ONLY the MAIN CONTACTS, without having to go to "Advanced contacts" (exactly like in the old caller app).
It is quite obvious that if I have taken the time to create different groups for my contacts, I don't want to see them all mixed together in the default view!

Sorry I didn't clearly understand what you were trying to accomplish. It would be nice if the dialer contacts worked the same as the contacts app seeing that they are linked. Maybe Sony can be persuaded to change how "they" work?? LOL hahahahahaha...... :silly:

This strange behaviour of the dialer derived from Google Dialer, of which our app is a branded Sony derivation. Damn Google, why give us groups/tags just to ignore them? :silly:
