Get MMS to send!!!!

After several days and trying lots of different things, I finally got MMS to send!!! You have to use GO SMS Pro though. It seems that the APN settings don't have the info for the MMS to send, and you can't add a new apn or edit the existing one:

So here's what I did to get MMS sending:

1) Download and install Go SMS Pro from the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.gosms&hl=en

2)Using a file explorer, go to root/system/etc and change all the mmsc lines in the apns-conf.xml file to this, where the red box is your number with area code, don't need the 1 in front of it. Make sure to save changes.:

mmsc="http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms?X-VZW-MDN=5555555555"

where the 5555555555 is your phone number

3)Reboot phone

4)Disable notifications from the stock messaging app

5)Open Go SMS Pro, then go to settings, advanced, mms settings

6)Under APN Configuration, check the box and enter this info into the MMSC box:

http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms

Leave the proxy box empty

Next enter this into the MMS port box:

80

7)Reboot phone and profit. After you reboot, the APN settings in Go SMS Pro should look like this, with the info in the red box matching the line you edited in the apns-conf.xml:

Now you should be able to send MMS using Go SMS Pro!!!! Also double check that the port is set to 80.

Good luck and hope this helps!!!!!!!!!

I have manged to get signal bars back alternatively until there's a solution. Signal Notification from market appears to work. There's also a free version. Hope this will give ease to you daily drivers! https://play.google.com/store/apps...organic&utm_term=android+signal+notification

The signal issue could be involved with device hardware signal graph, the app I acquired appears to work, where it pulls from the signal raw data to display signal. Not really my expertise to take on, but hope to help maybe shed light on a possibility.

Does this add a new signal indicator or just properly display in the current broken indicator?

You could do this and also use your stock messaging app. This is a known solution for a LOT of ports

I installed it to check it out and it adds the decibels to the left of the status bar. By example, mine shows -81 at home, which is the LTE signal strength i'm getting.
By the way, i installed the free version just to see if it worked as advertised.

It won't send with stock messaging app for some people. Even after editing the apns-conf.xml it still wouldn't send, and you can't edit the APN settings in the system settings or in the stock messaging app in this ROM.

My mms is fine. Lost GPS lock (has happened to me with other roms) but have yet to flash back to restore it .

I use sliding messaging. Both pics and long texts are going through and coming in.
Are you using devil kernel or stock

Well first, I want to say thanks for that because although I'd heard of gravity box, I never really looked into it to see what it did. Sounds like it will do a lot of what I want.

But second, the main reason for my post was to see if anyone knew why suddenly my backups were failing to restore? I'd like to be able to flash back, backup certain app data and then reflash this rom so I can have my apps back..
I restored just fined using phils recovery. Usually you have to use the same recovery and version of that recovery to restore a back up

I just switched from a 32->64gb Sandisk SDcard... so I'm not sure if this is a card issue or a ROM issue ... (or normal?).... card was formatted in the phone itself

Every since using the new card - my battery life has gone down to a few hours... Under BATTERY in settings, the MEDIA app is sucking 50-63% of my power... included packages are download manager, drm content storage, download, media storage and com.sec.android.providers.downloads.

I'm not even sure if i have a legit question... but it doesn't make much sense to me... As I'm not downloading, nor to I really have any mp3 or DRM content on the card...

Also I noticed with the new SDcard that I cannot mount it in CWM... which really sucks as there might be a present tonight in 9z-3... thoughts?

thanks!
