I got this off craiglist, it is rooted and I was wondering how can I find out how can I find out which is the ROM the phone has installed.

Flash Cyanogen 5.0.5. It's the best rom out. If you want the Sense flash the new Desire rom, it's been rebuilt

I would like to upgrade to Cyanogen 5.0.5 but do I have to do radio and kernel too? Or I am good with the ones I have and I can apply directly the Cyanogen 5.0.5 update file?

Thanks ALL! The cyanogen worked great! Another question how can I get wifi and usb tethering in the phone? Ir didn't came with the ROM.
