New toy for all: UK 3.4.2-117 froyo for Defy is out!

I am on 2.51 rooted rom. Can someone help me confirming that i just flash sbf from 1st post and i will be strt on froyo from eclair? do i need to flash any boot file as well? i have blur acct setup on this phone ... thx for your help

I don't recommend flashing this ROM since is undowngradable but you can still follow this steps:

What i meant is that this ROM is unfinished, with bugs, and 2.51 is the best ROM i used so far, i regret getting out of 2.51 to this one :|

As usual, i couldn't wait and flashed this one.

I came from german unbranded firmware, and i did

1. backup everything with TitaniumBackup
2. flashed the rom with RSD Lite
3. noticed everything crashing and lagging because of the google-sync (?)
4. factory reset
5. everything was clean and smooth, so i readded the motoblur-account
6. phonebook and stuff were back again
7. startet the market and searched for paypal, it didn't appear
8. installed the Market_Protected_Apps_Fix_And_Camera_Mod_2.2UK.zip via restore
9. everything works fine for now, including:

camera (photo + video), mobile network, phone-calls, sms, wlan, flashlight (!) and so on.

just writing this if someone other germans want to know

Going to this ROM you will not get a black screen, but you can get a bootloop, for that you have to flash the boot only for this rom, search a bit for it, don't know where it is atm.

My experiences contradict yours. Though I have not flashed 2.51, I did try 2.21.0, 2.34.1 and the Chinese Froyo. This one, for me, easily out-does those three.

That said, as with any release, make backups and only flash if you feel you actually need any new features provided, or are certain that flashing will fix problems you are having with your current setup. If it's not broken - do not try fixing it.

didn't check before, though it was german unbranded, which i guess is 2.21 or so - correct me if i'm wrong!

and it was stock, so yes, with blur

data manager

Hi all,
I have check my data manager on this rom and its seems very hi 50mb a day on average. i wonder if anyone else has checked how much data is being used.
I only have a weather widget running in the background.

I have flashed this rom with the hope that it could fix my problem with the flash camera, it is completely desynch yet.
Am i the only one with this problem? is it possible any solution?
My history 2.34 deblur with jit then china froyo, 2.34 deblur rom again( flash desynch but working), t-mobile 3.4.2 and now this one UK3.4.2. flash working but useless for the desynch.

I have been on all of them, but i was on 2.51 too, hte flash is perfectly synced in here

The portuguese version is perfect, but the swype doesn't have portuguese. I tryed to install other versions with PT-BR, but no success, because swype is in /system/app, i think. so, i tryed to replace that version and now i just get FC. any ideas?

I mean, does anyone know how to remove the preinstalled swype and install another version?

Its strange because it is an UK ROM and the portuguese version is PT-BT not PT-PT :X

I got a random restart of my phone yesterday, it rebootet without asking for the PIN again. besides from that - everything fine for now.

a bit offtopic: i noticed that sometimes when i recieve a call, i have to slide the green phone-symbol to answer, and sometimes, i just have to tab. that was allready the case before, with the stock-rom, but i thought it would be because i was using launcherpro. now it still occours. strange.

Everything sounds good about this UK Froyo...one thing. I'm on Australian Telstra which runs 850 band I'm led to believe (but not sure??). It does fall back onto 2100 band, but only get full 3G experience on 850.

I've noticed the first 2 x UK SBF's run on 900/2100, NOT 850. [See below link]

Hi there,

I have been running this rom for a day and have the LG weather widget and blur running with social networking updates and email from a number of accounts and i have only used a couple of mb of data. So it doesnt look to hungry on data usage to me!

Have you downloaded all of your market apps via the net rather than wifi?
