Version for flashtool

Hello everyone. Immediately ask to forgive me for the poor knowledge of the English language. I understand that a firmware update came out for people of Hong Kong, and "It's still .423, but the Customization Number changed from R2B to R3B". I apologize for the possibly noob question, but can I download this version of the firmware for flashtool? Where can I do this?

Thank you in advance.

If the only thing that changes is the customization version (R2B to R3B) then it simply means the customization package has been updated.

Sony first prepares an internal completely generic firmware. Regional teams then prepare the customized versions with customization packages (containing region-specific apps and settings). In this case it's clear that the customization package received an update without the generic base system needing it.

This also means that it was probably a customization-specific bugfix. There is absolutely no reason why something similar would be made available for other countries since they don't use the same customization package.

No, because it's not a real firmware update. Try to understand Ambroos' message. Only the customization package for Hong Kong has been updated, nothing else, so this update does not apply to other regions.

I compared both versions and, apart from some changed version numbers, these are the only real differences:
  • vendor/overlay/com.android.settings-res.apk: tethering DUN settings for 3 (Hong Kong) have been removed.
  • vendor/overlay/com.sonyericsson.customizedsettings-res.apk: tethering DUN settings for 3 (Hong Kong) have been removed.
  • vendor/overlay/com.sonyericsson.r2r.client-res.apk: APN settings for Cellcom (Israel), EMT (Estonia), LMT (Latvia), Elisa (Finland) updated; APN settings for LIFE Mobile (UK) added.
So this update only contains some new carrier settings, nothing else.

The big improvement on this update compared to the normal 4.2.2, is the volume in the ear piece. Now it's loud and I can talk at the phone everywhere, no matter the noise. I can compare it with HTC One, that I keep at half of the volume for my ear.
