my ota uppdate failed (i had frozzen apps) i thought i found a step by step on how to apply it manualy but i cant find in now. could someone post the steps and related files for me. thanks

i am trying to leave my bootloader locked.

I did manual update , by downloading the FW directly from Asus , unrar to the subfolder (US_epad-user-10.6.1.27.1) and just leave it in you root on your FAT32 formatted card. The tablet wil do automatic request for installing the zip.

My question , since I've lost my ROOT access , and didn't back up the 10.6.1.15.3 is :
Can I flash 10.6.1.15.3 based ROM on my current 10.6.1.27.1 version. I have unlocked the bootloader and TWRP 2.6 has been installed.

If you just want root back flash the latest supersu from recovery.

External USB not recognised

Hi,
Since installing the latest update JOP40D.US_epad-10.6.1.27.1-20130711 my tablet doesn't recognise my micro USB. Infact it totally wiped my micro USB card and now when connected via my cable, windows explorer only shows the internal storage and not the external.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Does anyone know how to fix this.

I am guessing you mean MicroSD, since Micro USB is a port type.

Mine is working just fine after the update and I can copy files to and from it without any problems. Could just be a filesystem problem - try reformatting it. Or try to use a different MicroSD card altogether just in case the one you are using is damaged.

I think the update that you did was not good installed , you should backup all your apps and data , and then download the newest update from the ASUS site and then install that. It's a reflash and I think something is wrong with the firmware of your keyboard , so when you update let the keyboared pluged in in your tablet.

I have tried both upgrading and downgrading the firmware (downloaded from Asus) with the tablet docked during all installs with no success. If by chance it does recognize that it's docked in the keyboard, if you undock for any reason it will not recognize the keyboard ever again. Anyone have any other ideas?

Since maintaining root is spotty is there a way to get rid of the system update has been downloaded message. I just know one of my kids will hit that at some point.

not if you follow the steps in the update guide. im on .27 on cm10.2 fully rooted. i booted into .27 rooted as well twrp 2.5 asked to install root .follow the guide section.

If you want to keep root and you are locked, don't take this update. There's nothing in it that makes it worth it.

I would say freeze the app responsible for it but not completely sure which it is.

Delete dmclient in /system/app (be sure to back up first just in case)

And it IS possible to have root after updating just use ota root keeper
