Device: Mi Max 2
ROM: Official MIUI Global Stable 9.5.5.0
Bootloader: Unlocked via official method
Recovery: Official TWRP 3.2.3-0 (+ Lazy Flasher)
Rooted via Magisk

I want to update from Official MIUI Global 9.5.5.0 to the Official MIUI Global 9.6.3.0 WITHOUT re-locking the bootloader.
ASFAIK I have two choices: 1: OTA update, or download the Fastboot ROM from .tar format and flash via PC . I can't locate a TWRP-friendly .zip.

I assume I will have to re-Fastboot-Flash TWRP, but not if the Bootloader gets re-locked.

What's the safest way to update to prevent the bootloader from getting re-locked? Is it possible?

I'm using TeamWin: twrp-3.2.3-0-oxygen.

In your instructions you said: "On the screen, swipe to allow modifications and select your language. Uncheck "Keep system read-only".

TWRP brightness is so dim even at 100% I'm not sure if I did this. There was a button stating something about system read, and I pressed it. Was this incorrect and if so how can I rectify this?
