Hi there...
I was messing around on my d5+ and selected some option on resolutions that now I have screen overlay.
I can't select nothing and dificult to see options.
How can I solve this or how to reset without using screen, as I cant select and see?

My wasn't dead but I manually (not via OTA) flashed new firmware available on manufacturers site. As a new user I'm not able to post the link but you can search manufacture's site.

Flashing goes with your watch turned off so you don't need the screen.

Hello,

Does anyone knows where is the battery ? (Is there is some video or tutorial to help find it please) ?

Is it possible to connect to external battery - without the internal battery connected ?

Thanks,
Ranchu

I'm considering No.1 D5+ or Finow X5+ as a replacement for my broken Moto 360 1st gen. I'm not going to use sim card in the watch, will use as a phone extension over BT. I have a few questions for the owners:

1. Can I use call, messaging, contacts etc. for operating the phone, not sim card? Is it OK for that use, or is it useless as a phone extension?
2. Can I receive calls notifications and use the watch as BT speaker/mic for talking through the watch?
3. How long has the band lasted? Does it look good after month or year of use? How do I replace it when it wears out?
4. What's your average battery life?
5. Is there any difference between those models, like battery life or screen quality?

Thanks!

I have D5+ for about a month. I always use it with sim card. Sim card capability was the main reason for me to buy it. The other is GPS/sport tracking.

In 2G standby (phone availability) battery can last 40 hours (with the right setup of course). I don't even posses the other Android phone. For all I know pairing it with phones has very limited functionality so this is not a watch for you. However, if you want to learn more about it you can read my review of D5+. Build quality seems to be good but I doubt if anyone already used it for a year to attest it.

Hey everyone!
I have been away from this thread for a while, because I didn't wear my D5 very much for nearly half a year. Yesterday I reactivated my D5 (and updated a dozen apps) and I think it is still a really cool thing. I wanted to ask, if there is something new about it? Has anyone worked out a custom rom with Android 5 or 6? I noticed that there are some new devices like the D5+ and similar devices by other names, so I think the D5 is not supported by the manufacturer any more. But I don't want to buy a new smartwatch yet. So can anyone here get me up-to-date?
Thanks in advance

Hi all!

I like this smartwatch but i have several questions:
Can I use this smartwatch WITHOUT sim card, and pair it with my phone through BT, and make & answer calls??? what APP can I use?
Can I use the Internet connection of my phone in the smartwatch through BT???
thanks to all!

I have the same doubt above, among others:
How to download smartfaces? I tried using the WatchMaker program but it does not work.
I wanted the smartwatch to be an extension of the smartphone but it was not meeting my expectations.
Need help!

Watchmaker faces are only for android wear watches, this is not an android wear watch. They instead use a format shared by a couple of watch phones. Look for smatchwatch faces on google+

Watch works well without SIM, I do not use with SIM normally but about to try it.....if I can get imei back on it (Luckily google has IMEI listed on my device list).

Battery drain

Hello all,

I just got myself an No1 D5, and I have a problem with a massive Battery drain.
If I charge the battery 100%, and only use Bluetooth + Tethering (GPS, WIFI disabled) the battery will be empty within the 4 hours.
However if i turn on Power savings , the battery will last with easy over one day.

So some kind of process is draining the battery, I really would like to know what is draining the battery, anyone who maybe give me some advise?
The phone has the latest firmware version 160928.

Any advise is highly appreciated.

    Watch Droid Assistant

Some time ago I bought a smartwatch with Android and I was not satisfied with the applications that I found to handle it, for that reason believes:

Watch Droid Assistant - (Smartwatch version.)

Watch Droid Phone - (Phone version.)

Both use bluetooth directly to communicate.
The applications are under test and may have errors, if so do not stop contacting me I will try to solve them as soon as possible.
I clarify that the English is not my native language so I passed the application by a translator, for aids in the translation since already they are grateful.

Connect your Android watch to your phone so you can receive notifications of your selected applications, incoming call information, make a call, manage music playback, turn up or down volume, and more.

    Notifications:

After giving permission to manage the notifications of the phone and select the applications you want to control you can respond the same from the watch.
In the options of the application of the phone you will have the possibility to modify your predefined answers, to eliminate or to add.
If the notification has the possibility of being answered the button will appear to be able to select one of your predetermined answers or the possibility of doing it by keyboard.

    Call

When you enter a call to your phone the watch shows you the data of the call, with the possibility of rejecting it.
After setting the fast call buttons, from the watch you can dial the number for a call from your phone in the following ways:
    * Select the configured contact.
    * Dial a number with a keyboard.
    * Select a watch contact and dial the number.

    Music:

In the music option you can:
    * Open the default player on your phone.
    * Skip the theme, pause or play it.
    * Raise or lower the multimedia volume of the phone.

TWRP Recovery for K8 Mini and D5

Now that @Lokifish Marz has published this http://forum.xda-developers.com/sma...d5-k8-mini-t3313788/post65293239#post65293239
for the D5, K8 Mini and X1 - here is the SP Tool flashable TWRP recovery image by @cyrux75 so all credit is to him for this. :good:

An incredible amount of time and work went into this and I think you will agree that the resulting touch format is fantastic - he has made something special here !!
This recovery is suitable for D5, K8 Mini and X1 and possibly K9 - depending on screen resolution.
Attached a pic of new format

The install is the same procedure as described in the K8 Round custom rom thread so refer to it if in doubt.
Usual disclaimers apply - we are not responsible for anyone's issues here. Use this at your own risk !!
    1) Install MTK drivers required - there are many tutorials available for this so please ask me how to do this.
    2) Use the supplied scatter file and just select "download" and only tick the recovery image in the list within SP Tool.
    3) Make sure watch is powered off and then connect your watch to your pc and it will flash in a couple of seconds. Job done :)

I have also included a copy of MobileUncle.apk - useful for rebooting to recovery amongst other things.
I strongly recommend that you use this in conjunction with the SP Tool flashable rom which Lokifish posted and I linked above - they were made for each other and would have been released together in an ideal world...[/QUOTE]

I don't have the possibility to solder here, so I tried to let the battery discharge completely. But as I wrote in my last post I seem to have made it even worse by trying to flash the custom rom. Now the watch doesn't do anything, isn't recognised by the sp-flash tool and doesn't even show the battery status when connected to the charger. When connected to the pc I hear the connecting sound.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough before.

Once you have removed the back cover of the watch you will see a metal shield covering the pcb.

Carefully remove this taking note of how it presses back into place.

Under here you will find cables which are very tiny but actually have little plugs on them to allow removal without soldering anything.

You just need to determine which are the power cables and which are speaker - antenna etc etc..

I did this with the K8 and as long as you are extremely careful it should be ok.

It saved my watch several times when trying to get TWRP working in the early days.....
