If you're rooted, you won't be able to use L1 in streaming anyway.

My shield k1 tablet has an unlocked bootloader and is rooted. Yet drm info shows it Widevine L1 compliant.

It will show it's compliant but you won't be able to open Netflix or initiate a streaming session with Prime Video. If I won't disable L1, DRM Info Will also show I have L1 compliant device.

+1, i have a OnePlus for that, friendly root, Pure Android (OOS or Custom) :highfive:

Netflix is on my computer or tv, not my Smartphone

I won't exchange my unlocked bootloader, twrp and root just for Netflix and other HD content never ever

Just download the Netflix apk

Ohh this is complex stuff.. Hoping for an xposed mod to bypass these restrictions..

Universal truth. Sacrosanct IMO. I'm a noob but have been reading about this since a week (in a greed to retain that show piece L1 status on Widevine). Now i guess I'll have to either use that Magisk module or rename liboemcrypto.so file. Which method is better?

I was using the Magisk module since it will stay across ROM updates, but recently I found an older Netflix APK from XDA that allows me to stream L1 content even with root.
