Hi. First if all, let me tell you I don't have the device, but planning to buy one soon. One of the guys in my neighborhood have a global rom version for sale. I am reading through the forums and I can see most of the users here have the Chinese version of the phone. I would like to ask somebody with the Indian version and global rom installed if there is any issue from those that affect the Chinese version of the phone (vivo account necessary to change the launcher, bloatware, notification issues etc...). Is the device certified in google play store? Is Google assistant working normally with dedicated button?

Thanks.

Yes the Indian (global) version is certified in play store.
You can use any launcher without any trouble.
Bloatware is there and some of it is uninstallable.
Yes Google lense and assistant is working great with dedicated button but cannot remap it.

Have been using the phone for past 2 days and loving it especially coming from Honor Note 8, where getting Notification and many of the simple things used to cause lots of headache.

Loving the phone- no issues with notification and/or changing Launcher. @boober78- In Chinese version, you apparently need Vivo account to change Launcher! (Used to be issue with Honor phone as well)

Bluetooth works fine and have it connected with Gear S3, which also is running smoothly, unlike Honor wherein, the aggressive battery monitor used to close it intermittently. Having used EMUI (and other Chinese version Mobiles past 3 years, including Mi Mix), I think this has been a pleasant change. Only thing I dont like is Size- its too small for my liking! If Honor Note 10 releases in India, will go for it.

I am facing one issue. Any third party app which uses camera especially front camera in night even with sufficient light, is getting yellowish and pink image. Human face and colors dont appear normal. Video calling quality feels as if I am using 5000 inr smartphone. Example, video calling in duo, whatsapp etc, Google lens, open camera app, etc.

Hi,
what do you mean? We can't install Whatsapp at all? or we just can't clone this app?

For 600€ i can get Nex 128gb/8gb, but the chinese model... is it still worth it? I'm just a bit scared about some apps compatibility

He means there is no app clone feature.

Funny company. Look at what happens when you switch on developer settings. My goodness. Overall it's a beast of a phone, but come on vivo, get a grip.

Got the India model today and now i have both models :D The Indian model is realy great.

First things i notice are:

- Indian model has a verry small Vivo logo on the back, you can almost not see it.

- All notifications like Whatsapp works without disabling i Manager app.

- White looks more white on Indian model, white on Chinese model looks kinda dull.

- Jovi button on Indian model activates Google lens and Google Assistant.

- On Indian model all Google apps are pre-installed and Google Play Store is certified.

- Vivo account is not needed anymore. There is Vivo Cloud, but you can make an account easy with email.

- App clone works with Whatsapp, just press the Whatsapp icon and hold to enable it.

- App linking works on Indian model.

- Screenshot app works much better on Indian model.

- Apps that use the slide down like "dimmer" work on Indian model.
