Hello,

Just received my Nex S (Chinese model). I have noticed that while it's charging, the charging logo and battery % is always on, whereas always on notification/clock is turned off. It's not possible to hide this charging logo? i'm a bit afraid about burn in

To sum up my first day with the Vivo Nex:
- Issue that i described on top (potential burn in overtime)
- Screen is over saturated, worst display I have ever had in any smartphone (coming from a Mi Mix 2 and a OP6)
- Notification issue, by default, every app you install, notifications of those app are blocked, you need to enable notification for every new apps...)
- Can't enable developper settings, or you will have a permanent yellow statut bar
- No bluetooth LDAC support... (whereas it was implemented since Oreo 8.0)

Vivo developpers are seriously retarded, by far the worst software i have ever experienced
I wouldn't worry about burn in issue for just 2 hours maximum of charging per day maximum.
And yes you can enable and keep developer mode on by using below app and hide status bar red pop up massage.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autonotification
The device support LDAC as i'm using Sony WI--1000X bluetooth stereo heaset and support it fine.

As for notification just turn on to all app one by one and give permission auto start app and background activity turn it on.
Also go to battery setting and put on each app want to ON high background power consumption.

Doing all the above you will received at time any kind notification from any kind app want.

Just like i did to myself and everything working magnificent.

LDAC isn't working (even if i select LDAC in developer settings, that just don't works)

Is it possible to change DPI? In settings, we can change font size but not display size...
Edit: found DPI settings in developer option :D

I didn’t notice until installation of Sony connect app few minutes ego.
I don’t use that app at all either with my OP5T but its show normally LDAC when I did installed it on OnePlus

So it’s 100% a bug on Vivo Nex.

I will contact Vivo support via Facebook messenger and report the issue and tell them to find a solution via software update.

I’ve got response from Vivo support and told me that Chinese version doesn’t support LDAC audio codec.

But told that Global One support by default LDAC.

I’ve asked them if there’s any changes via future software update to be added to Chinese version but not get any real answer to that only ask my request to be transfer to software department.

Edit:Can someone with global version that has LDAC Bluetooth headset can confirm LDAC support , because after further talking with Vivo Support I got at a second response from them and told me that neither global rom supported.

I've been watching a lot of reviews on YouTube, and I have noticed that the China Version gets higher antutu scores.
Probably because the Chinese firmware is way more aggressive towards apps. I was initially sent a Chinese version by a merchant, then got the Global one, and the Chinese one would constantly be closing apps and shutting off their ability to access data if it even so much suspected them as being a drain. So far the Global version is much more in line with other mainline Android phones, where it'll allow apps to run in the background without you having to tinker with several different menus. That may come at the cost of certain benchmark scores, but it makes the phone SO MUCH more usable and enjoyable.

Actually the charging icon is really bright, so I'd be worried.
It seems that after the latest update there is no big charging icon on the always on display any more.

Actually there is a partition in the Chinese VIVO official forum requesting LDAC be added back. So far there is still no response from VIVO.

Thanks for confirmation.
Really bad decision Vivo not implemented LDAC support both version.

Every other OEM flagship support LDAC with Oreo out of the box as it is native feature Google added to Android core since then.

Really Vivo should improve their software experience offering as its has many stupidly restriction for example as AOD does not support more that 4 app notifications(on Chinese version is maximum 2)

Chinese version also does not support clone app capability like WhatsApp.

But the most annoying thing is the policy having with third party launcher on Chinese version.

Really bad attitude by them.

Have been using the phone for past 2 days and loving it especially coming from Honor Note 8, where getting Notification and many of the simple things used to cause lots of headache.

Loving the phone- no issues with notification and/or changing Launcher. @boober78- In Chinese version, you apparently need Vivo account to change Launcher! (Used to be issue with Honor phone as well)

Bluetooth works fine and have it connected with Gear S3, which also is running smoothly, unlike Honor wherein, the aggressive battery monitor used to close it intermittently. Having used EMUI (and other Chinese version Mobiles past 3 years, including Mi Mix), I think this has been a pleasant change. Only thing I dont like is Size- its too small for my liking! If Honor Note 10 releases in India, will go for it.
You are the perfect guy to ask about Honor to Vivo transition. Am using Honor view 10 now and would like to test another company device either LG G or V series or Vivo Nex 2 solely because i need an audiophile grade phone.
How is the Vivo Funtouch os experience altogether after 1 month of usage ? Is the software stable ? Any lags in there ? cause you know Emui is very fast in multi tasking. I always enable developer settings in all phone to speed up transition to 0.5x. Is there persistent red blinking bar in status bar after enabling developer section, did you find anyways to disable that red status bar ?

Just use auto notification to hide that massage as i do at my device and keep developer mode always ON.
