So, it has happened to a friend of mine too. In his case the camera had been so damaged that the thing constantly spit out pink bands and major artifacts and more than half of the time it gave the error cannot connect to camera.

He got another camera module from USA for 1300 INR and replaced it himself and now it works like a charm.

Opening the Nexus 5 and replacing is easy no fancy tools needed, you just need to be slow and careful. A screw driver set available for 140ish INR will do the job and beyond. Numerous video guides on YouTube will help you sail through the procedure.

It could be that the module isn't original.
You could visit the service center and ask the people over there to have a look and ascertain what the problem is.

Try installing a camera app which allows manual focus using a slider and see if that makes a difference.
You can try:
L camera
CameraFv5

I already have manual camera, manual focus not working on that. I have talked with the seller, he's ready to replace the module. Let's see if the new one works.

The replacement module came, and even that didn't work, same focus issue. This time they said that they have sent the camera module only after testing it. :crying:
So i think that's it, it's something else then.

I think you should visit the SVC and ask them to find out what the problem is, later on just back out stating cost as the reason.

will take the device to SVC this weekend, let's see what they say.
for the username, some stupid fellow here reported it to a mod, and he made me change the username. But well, it was fun while it lasted. :silly:

I am also in the same boat as you. Though I have changed the battery last month, I am not getting more than 2-2.5 hours of SOT. I will wait till the next Nexus comes out.

I went for a nexus 6p. Bought it second hand for around 24k (32gb Variant). Though its big but the display and battery justify the size.
The reason i waited this long was to get a good SD820 phone. But none came.
Although i bought N6P a week before OP3's launch, I would never buy a OP or Mi device.
The software & developer support will always be better for nexus device.
Better buy a nexus 6p which will get initial daydream support and wait out till some decent modular phone comes along.

Yeah it works in mumbai with one caveat. No volte and we need to use jio voice app for calls.

No VoLTE is OK, you can use jio join app.
One big issue is that you will get less speeds because of the lack of band 40. I get 8-10mbps on the Nexus 5 (band 3) and about 20-40mbps on the OPO3 and Huawei B310S-927, both have band 40 support.
They seem to provide higher speed to band 40. But even 8-10mbps is pretty cool for 3 months unlimited for free :laugh:

So go ahead and try it out.

I know, I could've gotten a better device at this price point but a) I didn't have that much to spare since my Nexus 6 got stolen in a bus barely a month ago and I wanted to try something smaller this time. You don't have many options for a 5" nowadays. Also, b) It has Android 7.0 and by the fan base, likely to be supported for a long time.
