No. I still have the drain unfortunately.
But I'm pretty confident it is connected with my home wifi because I see NETLINK wakelock taking most of the time + without wifi or flight mode phone is sleeping like a baby. The funny thing is that at work everything is fine with wifi.
I guess something is messed up with my Virgin Superhub router (which is Netgear technically). I'm trying all sorts of stuff currently - changing channels, frequencies, assigning static IPs etc - still no luck.

Getting about 2-2.5 hrs SOT. Why am I only getting that?

I see my cell signal standby is the second highest battery user and is not green, is that the problem?

Yoir signal if is too bad normally that your battery life would be shorter.But even if with good gsm signal you womt have maximum 3 :30/3:40 screen on time with relatively short uptime.

ElementalX kernel, stock oreo system, big Cluster disabled. Using the A53 cores @ 1.5ghz. Gpu @ 490mhz. Greenify for automatic screen off hibernation. Usage includes web browsing and watching videos.
Not intensive use. But lasted over 2 days with 5hr SOT. I am impressed.

Well of course. If you don't use a custom ROM or at the very least a custom kernel and make adjustments to the kernel to increase battery life it's gonna suck. I would suggest either ElementalX or Phasma. I average about 3.5 hours SOT, but I don't ever let my phone drop below 25% so I could most likely get a lot more if I pushed it. Let me know if you want details about my setup, I've tried most kernel here and finally settled on a setup​ that works well.

Well, I was thinking about rooting my phone and installing a new kernel but keeping the stock ROM. I will be glad if you're gonna help me with the setting and tweaks to be made.

Hi mate. Can you explain me how to dosable the big cluster ? I can only disable on of them. If I disable the second one, the fist I disabled turn On automatically.

Install ElementalX kernel manager app. In cpu options you can choose number of cores. Disable cpu5 and cpu4. Or you can also set the max big cores online to 0.

Try a custom kernel. ElementalX for example. Also check out the Interactive governor profiles thread to find a profile that suits your type of usage. Also i recommend Greenify app to auto hibernate stubborn apps. If nothing works take the phone to service centre and ask them to take a look at battery.

After testing some CPU governors (and all of these profiles who promise lot of battery) and io schedulers I will recommand to some users to use conservative and noop because since Android 7 our device is smooth enough to use this kind of governor.
You can also adjust them by lowering CPU frequencies to 960 MHz without any lags but if you decide to lower you CPU at this frequencies I will recommand you to use franco kernel or tasker to create profiles for heavy games and Android camera.
By using franco kernel and any rom and lspeed and applying these settings you can easily reach 4hours of sot.
As many professionnal devs are saying playing with new governors don't worth it as stock Androids govs are now developed enough to bring us power and stability.

With a SOT of: 4h 49M

On stock android oreo and stock android nougat i had a terrible battery life of around 1h and 1h30 SOT Average, with the same apps installed.
I also ordered a new battery because i immediatly tought that was the cause of the draining. I will make a post about the new battery if it does make any improvement.

7 hours SOT over 2 full days of usage with 100% stock apps and Oreo, everything enabled, including Google Now + Assistant + App, Location services & scanning, NFC... no battery saver / airplane mode. My cellular reception quality is over the top (same for WiFi) so I can have a lot of battery put into other stuff than powering the antennas.

Can we take a moment to discuss the neutered 8.0 battery stats? No more detailed graph, no way to see GPS, WiFi or mobile data time. Less detailed information in general which will make it harder to diagnose issues, but in exchange we get screen time on a per app basis. Yay?

Oh and "Memory" from the settings is now hidden in the developer options along with Running Services.

Anyways, so far 8.0 stock battery life seems similar to stock 7.1.2 for me which is around 5 hours SoT over 1.5 days. Locations and BT disabled as usual but also the newly defaulted developer option which keeps mobile data enabled during WiFi I've switched off.

I've had my current 5x for nearly a year now. My first one that I ordered on release day got the bootloop issue. This was actually my first phone I didn't mod or install a custom ROM. It's probably because I used to want a more vanilla experience and now have it so I didn't find it necessary. Over the 2 years I've probably only topped out around 4.5 hours SOT only because I was watching offline YouTube videos during a couple flights. Regular use I averaged 3 hours give or take 30 minutes. On days I got less SOT I got through the day and on days I got more I would have to charge mid-day.

I don't know how you guys can "easily" get 4 or 5+ hours AND get through a day or two but more power to you. Pun intended. [emoji23]

I can't wait to upgrade to the Pixel 2 XL already. [emoji4]
