Nexus 6 Alarm with Earplugs

Anyone had success with the alarm ringing through speakers when ear plugs are in?
Worked great on my Note 3, but no-go with N6 so far. Thanks.

I can hear the alarm when I use ear plugs if I use a loud alarm tone and set it to max volume.

Neither me nor my wife have problems with my alarm and 30dB earplugs. Set to around 80% volume

Just to clarify, the two responses are saying no success getting alarm on speakers while ear buds plugged in, but you're ok with that because you can hear the alarm thru earbuds even when earbudds are not in your ears?
