In my opinion, this is the biggest issue currently plaguing the nexus one... If I wasn’t stuck with tmobile/tzones, I would switch to a droid (verizon) or capitivate (att) in an instant because this problem seriously kills the usability of the product. Im not talking about the lack of true multitouch (crossing axis, 3 finger, etc) cause I know that’s a non issues unless you play one of the 5 games in marketplace that require true multitouch. This is different... It is very annoying when you are halfway through typing a sentence and suddenly your “t” registers as a “v” or your “m” registers as “home”, etc.... Im keeping my nexus because there are other factors that make it the better overall phone for me but I really think some of you fanboys need to open your eyes and realize there is (are) huge flaws with out beloved dev phone.

I don't recall seeing anyone post that the nexus was the best phone because it had no issues at all.
when this happens to me I just lock and unlock the phone and the issue is gone.

What I don't understand is that in the title you say it's a deal-breaker and in your post you say you're keeping the phone. So which is it?

Also, you're about five months late in bitching about this issue.

And rather than come here and calling us all fanboys, maybe you should take a look in the mirror at the idiot who bought a device with an issue that bothers him so much.

this post was directed at the blind fanboys who go into the other threads and act like this is a non issue... it is not.

any phone i buy is going to have some glaring flaw... i think it is impossible to have a perfect phone. i am just identifying this as the nexus ones #1 flaw.

As Old MuckenMire stated, you are BY FAR not the first person to whine about this. It's an old issue, and I'm pretty sure it has to do with the hardware. These "fanbois" have probably accepted it as a non-issue because there is no fix.

BTW, the Galaxy S is available on T-Mo as the Vibrant.

i personally think that this issue is MUCH worse than lack of true multitouch, but every week we get a thread about multitouch when i think thats the true non issue

galaxy s does not work with tzones

exactly, this happens to me about 3 times a week, sometimes less. to fix it you just lock the screen and the issue is gone. i'm not saying its a non-issue. i'm just saying its not the end of the world and certainly isnt a "deal breaker" like the title of this thread. every phone has their stupid quirks. look at the galaxy s, the gps doesnt barely work. the evo has 30 fps cap (which is a way worse issue than nexus touch), on and on. each device has some issue or another.

Use Swype or Swift Key.

Swype is the worst when you have this issue. No words will work until you lock/unlock the screen.
You know this touch screen issue with the wrong letters being registered, I used to have this problem about 2-3 times a day. Then when froyo came out, it was like twice a month. Now ever since I flashed Cyanogen 6, I have yet to see it. Don't know how or why...I'm just thankful :)

This issue seems to be a thousand times worse if the phone's been getting hot from sitting in the car dock. EVERY time I pull it out of there after it's been there for more than 10 minutes or so, the phone's so hot that it's painful to touch it, and the touch screen's really flaky even after locking and unlocking, unless i let it cool down first.

Hmmm, this happened a few times right after I got my N1 in March but I don't think it has happened since.

Sorry, total non-issue for me.

Be that as it may, I have yet to ever experience this issue. Can you tell me how I can try to recreate it?
