Yes that's why this thread is here. If you have poweramp check out my setup I posted in one of these Viper threads here on the Nexus 5 forums.

Well for me ViPER4Android doesn't really work. I mean when I install it, it tends to work for awhile i even turned it into a system app. But eventually it will stop working. I've tried with shuttle, n7player and Poweramp it works but when it stops working it will never return not even with force enable or compatibility mode. I'm really disappointed, loved ViPER4Android on my Xperia T.

It's a shame taking into account that there aren't a bunch of sound mods for our N5

BTW I'm on Droidkang v17 and Franco kernel r32

I'm noticing snaps, pops, beeps now. This is driving me crazy ugh. Is there anyway to have other audio like notifications while in Compatible Mode? If in normal mode speaker and notification sounds go off but when in Compatible only poweramp is capable of audio. Everything else in the system gets muted and I hey no ringtones either. Poweramp is getting to be a huge pain.

My FX Compatible mode is set to "Normal" since I'm on VanirAOSP. When I was on CM11 based ROMs I couldn't choose the Music Effects so I had to use the compatible mode with MusicFX - like mentioned by you in V4A thread for PowerAmp.
But now with this AOSP based ROM I can select the Music Effects thus no need to use the compatible mode. I think that we can prevent a lot of issues with Normal Fx Compatible mode.

AFAIK your settings are only for CM11 based ROMs (MusicFX activated and compatible mode). On my side I disable MusicFX into PowerAmp and V4A works as expected even with PowerAmp.

Give a try with an AOSP rom and Chaos kernel ;)

I tried to get it working on my stock'ish 4.4.2 but for some reason couldn't get it to work while on other Android devices it worked perfectly.
Then I reinstalled busybox .... and now it works. No idea why but worth to try if you can't get it working.

I managed to get it working with normal mode now and notification has to remain on in order for it to work properly. I set it up on. Cataclysm which is the closest thing to stock. I'm not really a fan of cm11.

New Viper version!!! ViPER4Android FX: v2.3.2.0
http://vipersaudio.com/swupdate/viper4android/download.html

Copy the apk to system/Priv-app folder and reboot so it is installed as a system app and doesn't close when you swipe from recents.

Can u tell me how to do this? I run purity with supersu1.95 and try to copy the file with es fileexplorer... But it tells me the folder is writeprotected. I already activated root mode in ES

Use root explorer or room toolbox. I have never used es file with root. I've been using root explorer for that.

I installed via the flashable zip that dan96815 posted in this thread.
I see that this link is for the apk, can I just install via the apk and it will upgrade the app?

Or is it more complicated than that? I'm using stock ROM, rooted, and Google PlayMusic if that makes any difference.

Yes just update through the apk. Hopefully that zip sends it to priv-apps.
