Copy the apk to system/Priv-app folder and reboot so it is installed as a system app and doesn't close when you swipe from recents.

You have to unistalled drivers, remove any duplicate apps, push to priv-apps, restart, install drivers and bam you won't have issues now or in the future.Got to say my N5 is sounding better than ever! Was using built in DSP on Purity, until he got rid of it. Installed V4A, and used Z's profile in the 1st link here.
Only thing I changed was:
IRS: Dolby Pro Logic ll 2 (here)
Bass Boost +8 (not 10)
Clarity mode: XHiFi (not OZone+)
Only problem is V4A stopped after about 5 songs, I had to go open Play Music equalizer to get it to kick back in. I think I read of this issue somewhere....

I tried this, moved apk from data/app to data/app-private. Did not work at all. Moved it back all is fine. I installed the update from the apk mentioned here, and so far has not shut itself off. Volume is amazing. Plenty loud with my S4's at about 20%
This is on the ViperAudio maker's websiteWait what is IRS and how do you change it?

Thanks. My big challenge is that I can't seem to find the folder that is automatically created when installing Viper. It's not on internal storage.
Did you try manually making one? Thanks. My big challenge is that I can't seem to find the folder that is automatically created when installing Viper. It's not on internal storage.

It creates one automatically if you try to search for an irs file through the convolver. Make sure your settings are on expert.Thanks. My big challenge is that I can't seem to find the folder that is automatically created when installing Viper. It's not on internal storage.

Found a few times that id have to force close some streaming apps to get it to process. Hoping that's a product of not full supportFull support for Android 4.4.2 but what has been modified compared with the previous versions?
V4A already works well on my side. Maybe my famous beeps are gone...
I had the same problem. The solution for me was bumping minimum CPU up to 422mhz instead of 300mhz.Finally managed to make it work. The trick is moving the ViPER4Android apk to system /app not priv-app.
The problem now is that I'm getting cracking and distortion while surfing and listening to music, no matter what configuration I use.
It's really noticeable when loading a website or loading something on the playstore.
Any suggestions, or had someone noticed this issue?
In anything Android 4.4+, apps that are in System/Apps don't get full system access. Similar to how Data/Apps work. If you don't place V4a in System/Priv-App, Android will kill Viper in the background. Theres mulitple sources stating that. If you can't get it to work in Priv-App (Privileged-App) thats a different problem entirely. The cracking and distorting you're hearing, is probably due to the minimum CPU clock being too low. If you're listening to music, and surfing web pages that a lot of power needed. Especially if you selected Super Audio. Try bumping that up some. Finally managed to make it work. Well it was weird because 2.3.1.5 always worked fine with 300mhz min CPU. At the end I solved the problem without having to modify my cpu frequencies. In anything Android 4.4+, apps that are in System/Apps don't get full system access. Similar to how Data/Apps work.
