Very well said. He said we aren't believing our eyes but the yellow buildings on the S4 don't support his theory. I think it's him who doesn't want to believe his eyes. Instead, he's picking up on minor details to justify his position.
Oh well! Each to his own I suppose

It's not about you don't believe your eyes only, also you need to check them.unfortunately i am not a doctor to help you in this case.
So the magenta tint will prove your theory LOL
I will not go in debate with two fanboys here,i will leave this thread for peace.

Have fun

Ok dude your a professional I have to believe you. I just lived there and well some of the footage is to bright compared to real life. But what do I know. I'm no professional. Ps I'm no fanboy. I originally said I liked the s4 footage. Just thought it was to bright.

As i say before S4 is a winner,i am a professional photographer so no one can convince me the opposite.
Look the details and the magenta tint in the XZ's video.

Very professional attitude indeed...

I still prefer magenta tint over everything being yellow, no matter how 'unprofessional' it is. I've seen these buildings at night, and they're not yellow like that. They are on the video though, so for me that's wrong reproduction on camera's side - and i dont really care if anyone considers it professional or not.

But hey, to each his own. I prefer the way xz captures it, you prefer s4's - and it's fine.

For those said about over yellow, I'm sure they have never been in Paris.
The opera house at night has the golden yellow light (the same as most of buildings in Paris), looks very gorgeous, not desaturated like on XZ video.
Maybe not as yellow as S4's video, but not different much.

It's very funny that many when see a less saturated image then conclude that it has natural colors, regardless the real colors.

Yes but in that night clip there is a small car. Which is clearly white. But s4 makes it look yellow. That is hardly it's natural colour.

Completely agree. XZ is the better Of the 3 in most instances. It just gets a bit of magenta tint with direct lights but easily more accurate than s4.

Ok, I agree about the color of the small car of the Opera House scene
However, I always feel confused when people conclude that a less saturated image means natural. How about desaturated colors?

Here is the evidence I see from the Arc de Triomphe scene
Fristly, colors on S4 video and XZ video on the building are totally different

However, after moving a bit, the colors on XZ changed to very similar to S4 (even a little bit more yellow)

This picture, S4 showed the best white balance (look at the light on street), also much nicer than XZ (One is rubbish)

This time, One showed the best colors, following closely by S4, One's pic is brighter but a bit over exposed (in fact it was much more over exposed few second before), while S4 controled the exposer quite well. Magenta tint and over exposer made XZ's image much worse.

I suppose we all see images differently. When people say over saturated, they mean to the point of losing its true nature e.g. White becomes yellow, blue becomes purple etc.
To my eyes, the image on the Z looked the most accurate, and yes I have been to Paris. Even if I hadn't, I'd still have detected the troubles with the s4's image and so sorry at no point was the building more yellowy on the Z. The yellowish tint only occurred when the light hit the lens extremely off centre whereas on the S4, even dead centre, it was still yellowy.

The eyes can understand the yellow tint cause usually tungsten light is yellowish but where the magenta tint come from? ;)

Is it just me or does Z have a slight magenta tint? Especially looking at those light sources, it's more obvious. One surprisingly looks horrible in this. I personally think S4>Xperia>One in these samples, and in an entirely different shot, who knows, the result would've been entirely different.

It's not a question of understanding or not understanding. It's simply a question of image quality or should I say the perception of it.
For me, I was more put off by the very violent yellows on the s4. Don't even think I noticed this so called magenta tint until you guys flagged it up.
The first time, I watched this video, I saw it with my girl and she too was equally horrified by it.
I think you understand it because you want to understand it.
For me, the Zs image quality was better in both videos. I just think it handled the fluctuations in lighting better. But that's me, you obviously prefer yellowy buildings to magneta tint.
Each to his own

Z didn't lose its focus once if I'm not mistaken. Though the darker parts, especially when they filmed the sky it was slightly purplish. S4 had too bright yellows in my opinion whereas the ONE simply cannot compete with the two. One clearly the loser as S4 and Z would come to personal preference I suppose. For me they are a draw, maybe Z slightly edging the S4.

Well, it doesn't matter if you can capture a single frame where one looks better than the other or the opposite.

I saw the full video and also did my gf, who is using Samsung phones since the first Galaxy. We both agree, which is not very common in us, that the video recorded with the Z looks better. It is simply nicer to see, less saturated, and more similar to real life. We have been in Paris the last year, the third of the screen recorded with the Z brang good memories to us, while the other 2/3 of the screen was like an unrecognized place.

I don't need to be a professional to have an opinion, also beeing a professional does not mean to be good at this, or have the objective truth of something subjectuive by nature like this.

In the daylight comparison i liked the S4 more than the XZ by a bit.
