No DPI change here still get the error message on a few apps that i can install with all other (ics/nonics) roms. Still tried changing DPI - no effect.

Fresh v3 wipe install with 20120429 gapps.

Some apps not showing in Market => Fixed for build #3

AND, IN OP

- If market reports "Device not compatible", if Chrome doesn't work, remove your damn DPI change!

i have imilka cm9 v03 and i already have my gb backed up if i restore to gb using the phone will it be safe to install cm9 build 3..cheers
NO NO NO!!!!

DO NOT do a Nandroid restore using any leaked kernel (such as the one in imilka's builds). This is as dangerous as flashing/wiping using those kernels.

hi

im on 2.3.6 XXLA4

I should install abyss note kernel 4.2 and reboot to recovery.then flash the cm9.is that correct?
You're already on Gingerbread, if you've got CWM, just flash this.

There's nothing special about Abyssnote 4.2 - Any Gingerbread kernel with CWM will work. All the Abyssnote 4.2 bullshit is because it worked once for some dude and then he went and proclaimed "OMG SOMETHING IS MAGIC!" - well, there isn't magic, if he'd tried CF-Root instead he'd have gone off proclaiming CF-Root was magic.

As long as it's a Gingerbread kernel and not an ICS repack (ZCLP6, ZCLP5, ??LP1) you're fine.

I know this tread is not about bricks, but your warning must have saved lots of souls from bricks and sorrow. Just wanting to ask, for those currently running ROMs with affected kernels, though, ROMs could be working, could any undetected/unobservable damage possible without one's knowing?

Anytime you wipe /system/ on a leaked kernel you risk a brick..actually he even mentioned doing anything in a leaked recovery could cause damage.

if you're on a leaked kernel/recovery get off it now or risk a brick..its that simple.

Do you mean me with this "some dude" talk?

If so, then we had good reasons why we used Abyss 4.2 only and no other Abyss versions..yes we did not try CF-Root but why would we if there is a kernel that works?

And I can't seem to remember where or when I proclaimed "OMG SOMETHING IS MAGIC!", on the contrary, I provided what I believed is the reason behind those incidents depending on my limited knowledge..

it has been mentioned before that video recording only uses 1 mic. but its quite annoying that when watching recorded videos on a computer only the left channel is active. no sound from the right channel. isnt it possible to make the recording mono?

I think its a generalized statement and not likely directed at an individual. More just a frustration venting post at people saying that only 1 GB kernel being safe, when its clearly not the case.

That was the exact question I asked at one point in the "Bricked by Stunner" thread, but never had an answer...

I'm scared my phone is f***ed without me knowing it YET.

What happens if at one point the phone tries to write to a damaged sector on a partition ? I'm back to stock GB (rooted), but for the first time since having the phone, I had a error when reinstalling my apps from the market, "Not enough space".

I tried installing the app again, and it worked, and it was the ONLY error I had out of 70 apps installed, but that made me think: "I have maybe a small part of my memory that's corrupted and the system tried to write on it, thus the error".

I hope it's just a small software glitch...

You do not have to install build 2 before installing build 3.

Fix permissions sometimes works for FC's as well. You might want to try that.
