[NIGHTLY][ROM][4.1.2] CyanogenMod 10 for Acer A700

I've tried alogcat and catlog, but nothing comes up. I'm trying to get my microSD to work, but I get FC from Settings when I hit the storage button. Can't connect through MTP to my computer, either....I'm getting frustrated, I guess. I'm going to give up for the night.

Okay, I lied..I didn't completely give up. I used adb to push Vorbeth's ROM and am installing that...If all else fails, I'll go back to stock until I've got more experience in the flashing department.

You should use "adb logcat" to get a logcat, not an app on the system.

See, the first post I found on XDA about it said to try those programs, and that post was quoted all over the place....

I'm not giving up on your CM10, though. I'll go back to it after playing around in Vorbeth's for a while.

Touch sensitivity and gapps

Tested, your ROM today, but i wasnt able to flash Gapps, and the touchscreen sensitivity is worse than the Stock JB :/ i think i will wait for further versions.

I'm always amazed at the mixed results we all have. For me, CM10 has perfect screen sensitivity and I was able to flash gapps without problem. Other issues prevented me from using it as a daily driver, but I'm sure I'll use it full time somewhere around release candidate two...It was a waiting game for CM7 on my NookColor, too. I didn't use the official CM7, but instead used Phiremod CM7 (and loved it). Been using the KANG CM7.2 since it was released.

Takes all kinds, I guess.

What error did you get flashing gapps? Did you try adjusting screen sensitivity in advanced settings?

Didnt get any error on flashing gapps in recovery, they just dont appear in the os ... tried to full wipe the tablet and reinstall, same issue... and yes i tried touch sensitivity "high" and thats not even like low on the new stock rom, sry :/

What gapps file did you use? Did you use the correct file? You can also try getting /tmp/recovery.log right after the "failed" gapps flash (before exiting the recovery!) to help debug the issue. You can also check if the gapps files exist in /system/app/ with the correct permission.

I used gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip from your link in the first post.. sry i cant provide logs or check the permissions, as i switched to iconiaN because of the touchscreen issues.

You're not the only one. I had lots of FCs when adjusting settings related to the launcher and CM10 themes. I think it more a fault of the launcher than a fault of CM10, though. I couldn't change themes, nor was I able to change the number of desktops or grid size without FC.

I had already switched to iconiaN before I learned how to do a logcat, though...

Strange Error with Stock Keyboard & Sync Error

Hi, i just installed the latest nightly Rom and have 2 Problems:

the more important is, that if i type in the Data of my google Account i get a Sync Error, and it doesent matter if i install the gapps or not nor witch version..Access to goolge Store isnt possible also (Message is: "Server Error")

The second error is, that the Stock Keyboard have a permanent Force Close: It try to start up and stops direcctly with an error Message: "Keyboard have to be closed" it is not possible to type anything. ATM i installed with an APK on my SD Card the swiftkey 3 Keyboard.I tryed allready to turn the Stock keyboard of as soon i installed swiftkey but the "Tickbox" from the Stock keyboard is greyed out.

Before i installed the Rom i didt a Wipe/Factory reset then installed the Rom, do a factory reset again, then Reboot to rom but these both errors are still there.

Do someone have the same errors or have a solution to this?

I hope i wrote a litlle bit clear. English is not my native Language.

I solved it! : There where some Rests from Stock or other Custom Rom. it looks like that if you do a "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" not delete really all. This way works (for me):
1. Reboot in Recovery
2. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
3. Wipe Cache Partition
4. in "Advanced" Wipe Dalvik Cache
5. in "Mounts and Storage" all "Format" exept "externalSD"
6. in "Advanced" Reboot Recovery
7. install rom
8. Install this http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip Version
9. Fix Permissions
10. Reboot System

and it works

Is anyone having an odd problem that when they boot you can't turn on Wifi? It just stays on "wifi is turning on" forever, and requires a reboot to fix.

I just installed the nightly from 2012-12-08 and it works great! Really a lot better than the original stock firmware. I would like to post one small bug, one feature request and one question.

Configuring the number icons on the homescreen (Settings -> Launcher -> Homescreen -> Grid size) does not have any effect. Regardless of the setting it always remains 8 x 7. It would be nice if this was configurable to 10 x 8 like in the stock firmware.

The feature I would like to request applies to all tablets with stereo speakers, but since the A700 is the only supported one I guess this is an A700 request: The stock firmware will swap the left and right channel if the tablet is rotated 180 degrees and the build-in speakers are used. This is nice because in the normal position has the speakers facing downwards, turning 180 degrees gives a less muffled sound. As a bonus the stock firmware also channels the functionality of the volume buttons based on the orientation. Basically the left/top most button is always volume up and the other one volume down.

Finally a question: how can I best contribute to the CM build for the A700? I am not familiar with android but I do know Java and a bit of C and I do know my way around Linux, including building it from scratch (the LFS way, not Gentoo).
