If it's genuine OEM it will be a burgundy colour with HUAWEI on it.
A lot of negative reviews on Amazon for the generic cards helped me decide on the 128GB OEM card. And it's genuine, I verified it on Huawei's site. Only had it a few weeks but everything is fine so far.

I hope you're in luck when you get your reader and you can retrieve your data.
@gavinwatson had the same problem but was able to save his data.

So this has been a wild emotional roller coaster. Rubbed the card with the cloth for cleaning eye glasses and it started working! I am feverishly backing up everything now.

Wow how lucky is that!
If you're going to carry on using that card it'd be a good idea to test it a while, make regular frequent backups.

OEM Huawei card or generic?

Mine was a generic 128GB with good speeds and cost, I can't imagine much difference in brand though as mine is working again after format, I believe there to be some issue with setting it as primary storage for a while

Happened Again

So the phone did not see the NM card again, plugged NM into computer and removed the Huawei folders and started working again.

I am going to get a Huawei NM card and hopefully will not experience the same problem, will keep you guys updated

You're not having much luck mate. I'd put it down to it being a generic card.
So far I've had no problems with my OEM card.
Hope you have no hassle once you get a new one.

Just got my Huawei NM card, will be good to test it as system memory, will keep u guys updated

my p30 pro nolonger recognises the memory card since update.......ive said this before but obviously did not take my own advice...stay ckear of huawei....poor support and warranty...hopefully one day i will learn..lol

Update. I played in the development settings i dont know what i press but when i restart the phone the memory appears in the storage section and i can put it as default storage.

Look like its not stable this morning my phone forced restart it self. Than when i checked the momery was not showing. Strange really...

I bit the bullet and bought a Huawei 128Gb Nano Memory Card today.
It didn't work at first, then I went back to look at the packaging and realised it MUST be in the right-hand slot, with the SIM-card in the left-hand slot.
The other way around does not work (but you won't see any errors or anything).
As others have said, this is a cracking way for Huawei to get money out of us... I hadn't read any reviews saying that the P30 was incompatible with regular memory cards, which cost a quarter of the price of Huawei's cards. Grrr...

I have an original huawei nm card. But my phone does not see it.
Only once, it has been recognised by my p30 pro, 3 days ago.
And it has been lost again.
